On September 3rd, there is a big parade(阅兵) in Tiananmen Square. After the parade, 80,000 doves fly up. We call them"peace doves"(和平鸽). They make the sky very beautiful.

Where do these doves come from? They are from a Beijing dove group. On September 2nd afternoon, people from the group bring doves from 10 places. Workers check(检查) each dove. Then they put the doves into 12 special cars. The cars have water and small windows. The doves stay healthy there.

When the song Song of the Motherland(《歌唱祖国》) plays, the car doors open. All doves fly up together. They fly around Tiananmen Square. It looks like they say"we love peace". Soon, they find their way home. Nearby doves get home in 5 minutes. Far ones take about 30 minutes.

It tells us Chinese people love peace. Everyone remembers these doves.

Hello, my name is Jack Black. Today, I don't need to go to school. So I go to my uncle's farm with my classmates.

The farm is very big. When we get to the farm, we walk around it. Look at the animals There are pigs, chickens, ducks, horses and cows. As we walk further (更远), we see my uncle behind the barn (谷仓). He feeds the horses. There are five horses there. We give them some grass to eat. We also learn to ride horses. It's really difficult, but we all enjoy it. My uncle rides a white horse. The white horse is his favourite one. At dinner time, my uncle cooks delicious food for us.

The Yangtze River is the longest river in China. It is to over 400 species (物种) like the Chinese sturgeon (中华鲟). The Chinese sturgeon is one of the fish in the world. A Chinese sturgeon can grow up to about 5 m long, weigh over 500 kg and for about 40 years. They've lived on earth for about 140, 000, 000 years, people call them a "living fossil (化石)".

The Chinese sturgeon was in the river before. However, it's in danger now. Fishing too much in the 1970s made the species fewer and fewer. And in 1981, the building of the Gezhouba Dam put the sturgeon into two groups. The two groups could not get together. As a result, the species became even. So the help for the Chinese sturgeon is very necessary.

, China has already taken action. On 14th May, 2020, Shanghai passed a new rule to help the Chinese sturgeon. This was the rule to help the fish in danger. From then on, the country also to stop people from fishing in the important areas of the Yangtze River. We believe the Chinese sturgeon will become more and more. We should also play a part in the species in danger.

Do you like to play? Do you know a special day for play? 11 June, 2024 was the first International Day of Play (国际游玩日). On 26 March, the United Nations decided to create a day to honour play worldwide.

It's an important part of their growth. Play makes them move around, so they can be healthy. It also helps them make friends and know how to work with others. All of these things are important.

In fact, play doesn't only happen in free time. In school, play can make study more interesting. It helps kids remember information they need to learn.

However, 80 percent of children said their parents don't think play is important. The data (数据) came from a survey made by YouGov and the Child & Youth Friendly Governance Project in 2023. The groups surveyed about 10, 000 children from more than 20 countries.

Now, some organizations (组织) want to tell people the importance of play. "Play is powerful," Melsaac says. "Through play, children understand and find out more about the world."

Dong Feng, a famous doctor in the Three Kingdoms Period (三国时期), saved many people's lives. He didn't ask them for money. What he only asked for was to plant apricot trees (杏树) on a hill. As time went by, a forest of apricot trees grew on the hill. That's why we now show our thanks to a good doctor with the words "the warmth in an apricot forest".

There are many other interesting stories about planting trees. When the National Tree Planting Day comes next year, will you plant a tree with your wishes in it?

The zebra fish went to China's space station on the Shenzhou XIII spaceship on 25th April, 2024. Since then, they have been living in a closed fish tank (缸) with some plants. The fish grew up and had babies in 43 days. It means that the fish completed a whole life stage, from growth to development and giving babies.

In their special closed environment, the plants made air for the fish and the fish's waste gave the plants food. The scientists gave the fish food through a special needle (针管).

Such a closed environment is important for future studies in space. It means that plants and animals can live in space more easily.

The scientists also found that the zebra fish acted differently in space. For example, they often swam on their backs in space. The low gravity (重力) in space is a big reason. However, on Earth, gravity pulls everything to the Earth's centre, and animals can find their way easily. Gravity also makes their bodies work harder and become stronger.

It isn't the first time fish have been sent into space. Zebra fish were earlier sent to the space station in 1976. Why do scientists choose zebra fish? Humans and zebra fish share 70 per cent of the same genes (基因). So the new finding will help scientists better understand human health and human diseases.

Bebeto remembered how Ana's eyes lit up when she saw the new doll at a gift store. How he wanted her to have it! Suddenly, he had an idea.

The following morning, Bebeto rode his bike to the outskirts (郊区) of town. He joined some boys picking mangoes (芒果) among some smaller trees there. The smaller trees had few mangoes left, but he gathered some by noon.

As the sun climbed high, Bebeto faced the challenge of the tall trees with ripe (成熟的) mangoes just out of reach. Bebeto made a tool with a bamboo stick to get them. It was tiring work. His neck and arms hurt. His hard work paid off. By late afternoon, his bag was nearly full.

On his way back, he worried he would be too late to sell his mangoes. Fortunately, he made it just in time to exchange them for the doll.

The next morning, at breakfast, Bebeto placed a large bowl of mangoes in front of Ana. "Happy birthday, my sister," he said.

"My favourite fruit! Thank you, Bebeto!" she picked up the top mango.

Then her eyes widened, and her smile became brighter. There, among the fruit, was the new doll.
