My Dream Job

Everyone has a dream job.

Mr. Smith is our school gardener. He is local. He goes to work early in the morning and only (leave) in the evening.

These experiences have influenced David's life. Now David is studying space science. Although it is hard for him, he has made up his mind to be a space engineer in the future. 

As this year ends and another year begins, this is a good time to think about your life. Are you doing things that are really important to you? Is there anything you want to do but keep putting off? Setting goals can help you plan your life better. 

Setting goals for your life can be scary because they' re so important. To make the process(过程) easier, write down things you'd like to do in your life. Try thinking of things around you, such as work, family, health, service and fun. Then choose one or more goals that you want to get in your life. Last try to think about what achieving (实现) that goal will look like. In a word, picture yourself reaching each of your goals. 

And don't forget to write down each of your new goals. This will help you remember to keep working towards them. 

After you set your life goals, set smaller goals to help you reach them. If you want to climb mountains, the first step will be how to exercise and learn about mountain climbing. Meeting each small goal will bring you one step closer to your primary dream. 

When you have set your goals, you can get to work and watch your efforts(效果) pay off.

Confidence is very important in daily life. It can help you to develop a healthy attitude. A study shows that people who are more confident are much happier. They can have more chances to make themselves successful. But how to be more confident? Here are some suggestions. 

Speak loudly

When you are not confident, you can't do well in what you want to do. You speak in such a low voice that other people can hardly hear you. Try to speak loudly enough so that people can bear you clearly. The high voice can help you become more confident. 

Play sports

Physical exercise makes you tired but completely relaxed. When you are athletic, you will be full of confidence. 

Encourage yourself

Write down a list of things you did during the day to see how many things you have done well. Did you finish your homework? Did you tell a joke that made everybody laugh? Give yourself praise for the good things you've done. 

Get rid of fear

Fear comes along with failure. But it's easy to get over it if you know that failure is part of life. Don't hide your head just because you said something foolish last time. Try to start again and believe you can do better. 

Pick up a hobby

If you like singing, sing as much as you can. In some ways, a hobby can make you outstanding. And it will make you happy and confident. 

In the early morning, my father passed away. As summer was coming, my mom became worried about the chores around the house. One of the heaviest chores was cutting the grass. By the end of May, the grass was up to our knees. I was only eleven, so I couldn't cut the grass by myself. 

A few days later, my neighbor who lived down the road from us. asked if he could cut the grass for us. My mother said yes because if not it would never get done. After he finished, my mom tried to pay him but he didn't accept the money. 

A few days passed and he came and cut the grass again. He continued to do that over the summer. He would cut the grass for hours and refuse to let us pay him. One day, my mom invited him for a dinner. While we were eating, we knew that he had lost his wife a few years before and knew how hard he lived alone. 

Now I'm older. I'm greatly thankful for what he did and I hope to be able to do the same kind of thing for him. Poignantly, he passed away a few months ago, but I thought that I should share this story about how kind he truly was. 

A Trip to Sunshine Island
