I have a dream. I want to be 

Hey, Captain Lim,

First of all, I would like to say that it is a great pleasure to be able to speak to an experienced pilot who knows what life is like in the sky.

I am a 13-year-old girl and for as long as I can remember, I've wanted to be a pilot. I would spend hours watching the planes at the airport take off from the runway. I love the feeling of packing my bags, traveling to some places that I have never explored (探索) before.

I just love airplanes and flying. The idea to fly people around the world always makes me excited. I'm just not sure if it's the right job for me. My dad says I need to make a quick decision because now is the right time to start training. It's true. I want to start early. It sounds funny, but I want to be young and energetic when I'm flying a Qantas Boeing 737, or even an A380!

I have so many questions about it—do you get paid well? I want to have a pretty good income (收入). I want to have a big family and house when I grow up. And it will need a lot of money. Is it fun? Is it safer than being a doctor or a teacher? Will I regret it? I hate regretting things I've done. Is it really hard? I'm also a girl, so will I be looked down upon?

And I would also like to know, if I definitely (明确地) want to become a pilot, where and when I should start training if I want to start early.

Dreams are like stars. You may never catch them, but if you follow them, they will  you to success. Yan Ning is such a dream follower. 

Yan is a rising star in the science world. When Yan Ning was only a little girl, she dreamed of being a great scientist. After years of hard work, in 1996, she  to Tsinghua University to study biology. After graduating from Tsinghua in 2000, she went to Princeton University and finished her study abroad in 2007. Then she returned to Tsinghua and set up her own lab. At the age of 30, she became the  professor (教授) at Tsinghua. 

Now Yan, 42 years old,  become a leading biology researcher at Princeton. On April 30, she was  a title (称呼) she has wanted all the time. She was among the 100 new members and 25 foreign associates (院士) into the US National Academy of Science. 

However, it was a long and hard road for her to make such achievements. She said that in order to  her dream, she experienced a lot of failures and pains. But she never gave up her dream . Instead, she followed her dream and fought for it. 

She usually works at least fourteen  a day. Sometimes she even forgets to eat and rest and works until late night. She never gets tired because she thinks doing research is the most "comfortable and " job for her. 

In a TV interview, Yan encouraged young people to work hard for  dreams. "All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to follow them."
