The Axolotl: Nature's Healing Expert

The axolotl is a unique salamander that lives only in the lakes around Mexico City. What makes it so special is its amazing ability to regrow body parts. Unlike humans, who form scars when injured, axolotls can regrow entire limbs, spinal cords, and even parts of their brains and hearts.

Jim Green is an American boy living in China now. His dad works here too, and he's a teacher who teaches English in a middle school. Jim's mom stays at home and takes care of the family. 

Jim is in a middle school and has some Chinese friends: Li Lei, Lin Tao, and Meimei. They're all in the same class and play together often. 

Li Lei's dad helps people find things they need in a store. He's a shop assistant. Li Lei's mom is a teacher too, just like Jim's dad, but she teaches Chinese. They go to the same school!

Lin Tao's dad drives a car, but not on the busy roads. He drives on the farm to help with work. Lin Tao's mom is a doctor who helps people feel better when they're sick. 

Meimei's dad protects our country like a hero. He's a soldier. Meimei's mom works hard in a factory, making things we use every day. 

All of these parents work very hard and love their children very much. Jim and his friends are lucky to have such wonderful families. 

The lost boys are very happy to have a "mother" called Wendy. Wendy cooks for the boys and mends their socks and trousers. She's very busy, but she likes being their m. She doesn't w about her mother and father, but she worries about John and Michael. They are starting to forget their old life. Perhaps this is because there are so many e adventures (冒险) in Neverland.

After they have fun l together for some time, this is their last evening on Neverland. Wendy puts John and Michael and the lost boys to bed. She starts to tell them their favourite story. Usually Peter puts his hands over his e because he doesn't like this story, but tonight he sits and listens with the others.

"In this story, Mr Darling and Mrs Darling have three c ," says Wendy. "These children have a nurse called Nana. One evening the children fly away," Wendy continues, "to Neverland. Now, just think about the s parents without their children. The mother always leaves the window open for her children to f back in."

"You're wrong about mothers, Wendy," Peter says angrily. "They c the window. They forget you. They put another little boy in your bed."

Suddenly, John and Michael both cry together, "Wendy, let's all go h ."

At last Wendy and the children fly back to London and Mr and Mrs Darling adopt (收留) the lost boys.
