Last Sunday, my parents and I decided to go to the zoo. We were all excited  the idea of seeing different animals. We got up early in the morning and had a quick breakfast. Then we left home  (catch) the bus. 

When we arrived at the zoo, there were already many people there. We first went to see the monkeys. They were so  (fun) and active. Some of them  (jump) from one tree to another, while others were eating bananas. I couldn't help  (laugh) when I saw a little monkey making faces. 

Next, we visited the elephant area. The elephants were really huge. One of them was using its long nose  (pick) up some hay. It was amazing to watch them. After that, we saw the beautiful peacocks. We waited for a long time, and finally, one of the peacocks opened  (it) colorful tail. It looked like a large fan.

May Day holiday is coming. Would you come to visit me in Sanmenxia? It'll be fun. Here is a map of my community. My house is near my school. I go to school on foot every day. There is a small park in front of the school. I like to play with my friends in the park. There is a big mall across from the school and the park. Today I will go there to buy some food, because I want to have a picnic with my parents this weekend. 

When you come to visit me, you may take a bus and get off at Xinxin Bus Stop. Then you walk from the restaurant. It takes about ten minutes to get to my house. First, you go straight and turn left at the bookstore. Next, you walk along the Third Road, and turn right at the park. Then you walk along the First Road and pass the mall. Then turn left at the hospital. You can see my house on your right. I hope we will have a good time together.

Xiao Ya

A river is a moving stream of water. Usually, a river flows into (流入) an ocean, lake or another river. Rivers can be different in size, and there's no fixed rule (固定规则) on how big a water flow must be to be called a river. Here are three famous rivers in the world. 

The Nile River

The Nile River is the longest in the world. It's about 6, 670 kilometers long. It's in Africa, mainly in Egypt (埃及) and Sudan. It flows north into the Mediterranean Sea (地中海). 

The Amazon River

The Amazon River is about 6, 480 kilometers long. It's in South America and flows through some countries like Brazil, Venezuela, Bolivia, and Ecuador. It goes into the Atlantic Ocean (大西洋). 

The Yangtze River

The Yangtze River is in China. It's over 6, 300 kilometers long and flows into the East China Sea. 

People often talk about jobs. But when I tell others what I do for a living, they can hardly believe this career exists (存在). But I'm not joking at all. I spend my days at work eating chocolate! I taste chocolate to make sure that people can get excellent chocolate from our factory. 

Every week, I receive chocolate from our factory. I have to check it for taste and smell. I also have to taste raw materials (原材料) we usually use. I spend days choosing the best ones to go into the chocolate. Just beside my office, I have a kitchen. I test and taste chocolate I make there. My kitchen is full of machines. It's wonderful to work there during the day. 

No two days are the same in this job. Sometimes I am in the kitchen. Sometimes I'm out of the country buying the raw materials we need and because I have a young family, that can be difficult. But I love this job. The question is that many people ask me if I get bored of chocolate. I've worked with it for a long time, but I've never felt I didn't want to eat it. In fact, I often eat some more in the morning at home!
