Let me tell you something about China's New Year's Day. 

New Year's Day is the most important day in . We call it the Spring Festival, too. It usually comes in January  February. Before the Spring Festival, Chinese people usually clean up  (they) houses and buy all kinds of delicious food.

Children like the Spring Festival best, because they can wear new clothes and get lucky  from their grandparents, parents, uncles and aunts.

 the morning of the Spring Festival, parents get up very early and start to

 dumplings. They often put coins（硬币）in some dumplings, and we can have

 luck in the new year if we eat the dumplings with a coin in it.

After we have breakfast, we can do  lot of things. We usually play cards and  (visit) our friends and relatives（亲戚）. Some people also like to set off firecrackers（放鞭炮）. It is very interesting.

During the Spring Festival, families get together and have a big family . Chinese people have a very happy time together.

Every year, in the United States, Thanksgiving Day is on the fourth Thursday of November. Because Canada is on the north of the United States, and it is colder, the harvest（收获）comes earlier in the year. In Canada, people have Thanksgiving Day on the second Monday of October.

The harvest brings a lot of food to people. On Thanksgiving Day, people in Canada and America like to have a big meal with their friends and family members just like what Chinese people do at the Mid­Autumn Festival. Many Canadians and Americans put flowers, vegetables and fruit around their homes to say "Thank you" for the harvest. At the Thanksgiving Day dinner, they will eat turkey, potatoes and pumpkin pies. They are saying "Thank you" for the harvest.

The Chongyang Festival is on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month. We also call it the Double Ninth Festival. Because both the month and the day are the ninth, it gets this name. To celebrate the day, people usually climb mountains and enjoy chrysanthemums（菊花）, so the festival is also known as the Height Ascending（登高）Festival or the Chrysanthemum Festival. In China, nine also means long life, so the festival is also called the Seniors' Day（老人节）.

The festival has a history of over 2,000 years. Because in September there is the clear sky and fresh air, it is a very good time to climb mountains. It is good for health too. 

On that day, enjoying chrysanthemums is very popular because the flower means long life. Drinking chrysanthemum tea is a way to stop bad things. People also carry a kind of plant called zhuyu. They think it can sweep away bad luck.

The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese festival. It falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. People celebrate it to remember Qu Yuan. 

During the festival, people have dragon boat races. Teams of players compete (竞赛) in long boats. With dragon heads and tails, the boats look like dragons. The races symbolize the villagers' dream of saving Qu Yuan from the river.

The festival is not just about dragon boat races. It is also a time for families to get together and enjoy traditional foods such as zongzi, sticky rice dumplings. They can be sweet or salty and they're very delicious.

Many people also wear a special kind of perfume（香囊）. People think the perfume can drive off（驱走）bad luck and fight against diseases（疾病）. 

In a word, the Dragon Boat Festival is a fun and lively celebration. It is a time to remember the late family members, get together with loved ones, and enjoy the sights, sounds, and flavors（特色）of traditional Chinese culture.
