In a word, remember that you have a digital footprint, and think carefully before you click "send" or "post". No one can go online and not leave a footprint, but with care, you can control it. 

Recently, many people think it's risky to use credit (信用) card numbers online. However, from time to time, we all use passwords and ID numbers on the Internet. We think we are safe, but that may not be true! A new kind of attack (攻击) is being used by dishonest people to steal IDs and credit card numbers from web surfers. This new kind of attack is called "phishing". 

Phishing sounds the same as the word "fishing", and it means that a thief is trying to trick people into giving away valuable information. Like real fishermen, phishers use bait (诱饵) in the form of great online deals or services. For example, phishers might use false emails and websites to trick people into revealing (透露) credit card numbers, account usernames, and passwords. They imitate (模仿) well-known banks, online sellers, and credit card companies. Successful phishers may make as many as 5% of the people believe and give away their personal information. 

It's really a big problem! Actually, tricking 5% of the online population is huge. Now more than 4. 6 billion people have access (进入权) to the Internet, and 75% of those Internet users live in the wealthiest countries on Earth. It has been reported that phishers send more than 40 billion false messages each year. Even by tricking only 5% of the people, phishers can make a lot of money. 

Amy, 18, from California, received an email. A man told Amy that she could get a million dollars in her account as a reward if she sent a thousand dollars to him. Amy did as the man said at once. The "thief" used Amy's Social Security number to get credit cards in her name and transferred her money. 

How can people avoid being cheated online? Above all, they have to learn to recognize the email that has been sent by a phisher. Always be careful with any email with urgent (紧急的) requests for personal information. Phishers typically write upsetting or exciting, but false statements in their emails so that people will reply right away. Never give out personal information to phishers. And if an offer sounds too good to be true, it is.

Move hands in front of the face. 

During a video call, you can ask the person to move his hand in front of his face.  And you can see the face shaking on the screen or you can require him to press his nose or cheek . When a real person does this, his nose will naturally change the shape. 

In communication, you can ask some questions that only the person knows to check if he is real or unreal. Or for the unknown person, such as the so­-called leader or friends, you can check them by calling or asking relatives and friends you're familiar with. 

Watch out your phone. 

Do a good job of daily information, such as the phone's security protection. Strengthen the face, voiceprint (声纹) and finger print. 

Hongmeng OS 4. 0: Redefining Connectivity

Hefei's Quantum Leap Shapes Future Communication

Hefei, known as China's "Quantum Valley, " achieved a groundbreaking milestone in 2024 with the successful trial of a 5G-integrated quantum communication network. This network, spanning 2, 000 kilometers across Anhui, ensures absolutely secure data transmission through quantum encryption. Unlike traditional methods vulnerable to hacking, quantum technology uses subatomic particles that self-destruct if tampered with. 

The achievement was made possible by collaborative efforts between the University of Science and Technology of China and leading tech firms. The provincial government allocated 1. 5 billion yuan to fund research and infrastructure development. This investment is expected to attract over 200 high-tech companies to Anhui within three years. 

Local industries are already reaping benefits. A Hefei-based smart city project now uses quantum-protected sensors to monitor traffic and energy grids. "This technology reduces cyberattack risks by 90%, " said project manager Li Wei. 

In the evening, when Chinese people use Xiaohongshu, they find a lot of English-language content. Many people from the US call themselves "TikTok refugees (难民)" and come to this Chinese app. Even though Xiaohongshu doesn't have an official English name, US users call it "Red Note". 

A user named Ryan said in a video, "Hello everyone, my name is Ryan. I'm a TikTok refugee. The American government is banning (取缔) TikTok, so we're looking for a new app. . . . We're sorry to come here. Hope we don't have to stay long. " This video, with a robot-voice Chinese translation, got over 75, 000 likes in one day. 

In the US, many people think the Supreme Court (最高人民法院) will support the law to ban TikTok. This makes the 170 million US TikTok users unhappy. The ban will start on Sunday. TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, says it won't sell TikTok, so it's likely to be banned. 

As US users call themselves TikTok refugees, they go to Xiaohongshu. By Tuesday, there were over 114, 000 posts with this hashtag. Xiaohongshu became the most-downloaded app in the US iOS app store on Tuesday. 

Some US users share pictures of their pet cats and dogs on Xiaohongshu. They do this to talk to Chinese users. A US user named @El Vampiro said, "I heard the Chinese citizens of Red Note are asking for a pet tax from all new American refugees. Here's my submission to the pet tax. I hope it will suffice. " A Chinese user replied, "Well received. Here's your refund. "

However, not all things are good. A Chinese user named Yuzijiang got some bad comments from US users after posting a video of herself dancing with curly hair. They said she was being unfair to African American culture. Although many US users supported her, she still apologized. Some Chinese users worry that bad US cultures like gambling (赌博) and drug- taking (吸毒) might come to the Chinese online world.
