Have you heard that many of the migrating (迁徙) animals are in danger? A report has found that one fifth of the world's migrating animals are at risk of dying out. They often move from place to place because they might be looking for food, better weather, or a friend. This includes big animals like whales and elephants, and small animals like turtles, fish, and birds.

The report was by the United Nations (UN), a group of 193 countries that work together on problems facing people. The recent report looked at the health of these protected animals and found that the number of them is getting smaller, and some of them are at risk of disappearing forever.

Migrating animals face many dangers, because they often move from one place to another. For example, more than 1.5 million wildebeest (a wild African animal) travel through Tanzania and Kenya to follow the rain each year, crossing rivers where hungry Nile crocodiles (鳄鱼) live. However, the biggest danger to migrating animals is people, such as hunting, fishing and building things that destroy their homes.

It's hard to protect migrating animals because of how far they travel. Monarch butterflies travel 3,000 miles every autumn from north-eastern North America to Mexico. But the report suggests that countries create safe areas of land to help animals. It also suggests that governments do more to fix climate (气候) change, as well as noise, light and plastic pollution.

The report showed projects that have helped migrating animals. In the South Atlantic ocean, rules that stopped the hunting of humpback whales (座头鲸) helped make their numbers go from 450 in the 1950s to more than 25,000 today. Inger Andersen from the UN Environment Programme said, "There is hope. Humans can still do even more to protect migrating animals."

Your eyes help you see and make sense of the world. They work hard every day, with reading, doing homework, watching television and playing sports. A report by Eye Health UK says eyesight can even influence how you feel: 76% of people with poor eyesight in the survey said it had influenced their mental health. Eyes have been called "windows to the soul". For example, when you're happy, your eyes might look big and shiny. When you're down, they might look dark and sad. By this way, they help humans understand and connect with other people.

According to scientists, the eyes work by seeing light and then helping the brain turn this light into images. Eyes are even busy when we sleep. Dr. Cheri Wiggs, who studies health, says that every night you go through a stage of sleep called rapid eye movement (REM), which is usually when you dream. Even if your eyelids are closed, your eyes are moving about, darting back and forth and up and down, Wiggs says. Just like the rest of your body,     ▲    . When this happens, they can feel sore and dry, and your vision can get blurry (模糊的), especially when you don't get enough sleep, read in a dim light or spend too long looking at a screen.

To care for your eyes, the National Eye Institute (NEI) suggests starting with a balanced diet. Doctors suggest eating a rainbow every day, with as many coloured fruits and vegetables as possible. If you spend a long time staring at a screen, take breaks every 20 minutes to give your eyes a rest, and don't forget to blink. It's important to have regular check-ups, too. If you feel like you squint (眯眼) a lot, or have trouble seeing things at school, then tell your parents, carer or teacher.

As the fifth of seven children, I went to the same school as my three elder sisters and brothers. And each of us joined an old school tradition—the plant sale held in early May, just in time for Mother's Day.

In third grade, I finally took part in the plant sale. I wanted to surprise my mother, but I didn't have any money. My eldest sister helped me after I told her my secret. At the sale, I carefully checked every plant until I picked the best geranium (天竺葵). Once I had secretly brought it home, I hid it on the upstairs neighbor's porch with my sister.

When Mother's Day arrived, I was bursting with pride when I gave her that geranium. I remember how happy she was with my gift.

The year I was fifteen, my younger sister reached third grade. In early May she secretly told me that she wanted to surprise our mother. Like what my elder sister did for me, I gave her some money and off she went. She arrived home full of nervous excitement, the geranium hidden in a bag under her sweater. "I looked at every plant," she explained, "and I know I got the best one!"

With a sweet sense of déjà vu (似曾相识), I helped my little sister hide that geranium on the neighbor's porch. I was there when she gave my mother the geranium, and I watched them both bursting with pride and happiness. My mother noticed me watching, and she gave me a secret smile. With a tug at my heart, I smiled back. I had been wondering how my mother could pretend (假装) to be surprised at this gift from her sixth child, but as I watched her eyes light up with joy as she was given with that most valuable gift, I knew she was not pretending.

How was your last vacation? My friends and I had a meaningful (有意义的) trip. We wanted  help farmers in the countryside. There is a village far from our city, so we took a bus there.It was sunny   a bit windy. But the farmers were still working in the fields. We helped pick apples and carry them to the trucks. The farmers were very happy and gave us some fresh fruit. Later, we heard someone shout, "There  a snake over there!" We all stayed calm (冷静的) and called the villagers for help. Luckily, the snake didn't hurt anyone. At the end of the day, we learned a lot   farming. What  unforgettable day it was!

My sister is good at organizing and planning events. So she helps set up a food bank for the homeless (无家可归的) people in our city. I also want to help these people. But I'm not sure what to do. So I feel worried.When Dad knows that, he gives me a smile and says, "Xiao Ming, you should focus on what you can offer, not what you can't." With his help, I get an idea — I can collect old clothes for those in need. I plan to ask classmates to donate (捐赠) their old clothes. "Why not invite friends to join us? Many hands make light work," I think.After hearing about our plan, many friends offer different help. Li Hua helps wash the clothes. Zhang Wei helps sort (分类) them. Others help carry the clothes. I believe the homeless people will feel warmer this winter.

Last week，I went to London with my friend for an art festival by car. We were very happy because we loved art and we also loved taking a trip together. 

We arrived in London one day before the art festival started. It was sunny and hot in the city， so we wanted to go camping in the mountains around London that night. We thought it would be a fun way to stay in nature and spend time together. But in the mountains，the weather became bad. It started raining very hard not long after we set up our tent. And there was a strong wind. We tried our best to keep the rain out of our tent， but we couldn't. In the end，we had to leave and take our things to a hotel. When we got to the hotel， there weren't any rooms for us. Luckily，a nice hotel worker let us sleep in the dining room (餐厅). We fell asleep (睡着) quickly because we were so exhausted. The next morning, we were happy because it was sunny again.

Our camping trip didn't go very well，but we felt very warm. When we left the hotel，we said thanks to the hotel worker for his great help.

It was a sunny day last Sunday. Cindy, Li Ming and I got up at six o'clock in the morning. After we had breakfast and  some food and drinks, we walked to the underground station.

After one and a half hours, we  at Tian'anmen Square. We came to Tian＇anmen Rostrum（天安门城楼）first. There is a large picture of Chairman Mao  it. "Chairman Mao once announced（宣布）the founding（成立）of the People's Republic of China. And the first national flag was raised（升起）here," Li Ming  us.

While we were having fun, I found that Cindy was lost. Li Ming and I  a lot. We looked for her . We even asked a policeman for . Luckily, we found her at last. We were so excited and happy when we met again.

It was really a  trip.
