Positions related to new productive forces such as artificial intelligence and large-scale models are in demand in this year's job market. Some offer high salaries to attract talents, the Securities Times reported on Wednesday. 

At a job fair in Shanghai on Saturday, even though it was cold, many job seekers showed up. 1, 000 companies provided 20, 000 positions. There was a section for industries related to new productive forces with 22 innovative tech firms. 

Companies like Transwarp and MoSeeker offered jobs like algorithm engineers, product managers and community operators. 

Mr. Zhang, a marketing official of OpenCSG said the development of large-scale models is at a crucial stage. It requires many talents for data processing and model training. The text-to-video model Sora has raised the demand for talents. 

According to Liepin, new AI-related job listings increased by 612. 5 percent after the Spring Festival. The average annual salary was 443, 700 yuan. Algorithm engineers and product managers were highly needed in AIGC, with 18. 95 percent and 12. 63 percent respectively. Product manager positions in AIGC received many more applications. 

The manufacturing sector also has more job chances due to industrial upgrading. Zhilian Recruitment data shows that in the first week after the Spring Festival, the manufacturing industry saw an increase in job openings. The automotive and industrial automation industries grew by 15. 2 percent and 15. 8 percent. 

The first week after the holiday witnessed more job demands and job seekers. Liepin's data shows new job postings rose by 23. 6 percent, the highest growth in nearly five years.

However, self-discipline for many people means suffering rather than pleasure. Some people are influenced by some videos to form "perfectly" shaped bodies in a strict way. And then they decide to be as self-disciplined as people in these videos. But life doesn't go the way most of us expected. For example, when the cold hits, people have to give up their exercise plans for a while. There are many difficulties preventing us from being self-disciplined. Every step toward our goals brings us suffering. And sometimes the pressure we have put on ourselves only keeps making us feel worse. 

I used to be sad about this, too. Later, through tries and mistakes, I found a perfect way to solve this problem: setting short-term goals and going step by step. After thinking about different tasks that could make me give up, I realized that most of them shared the same thing— they brought more suffering than joy. 

Why not divide a "huge" task into smaller ones to solve the problem? For example, it's hard to lose 20 kilograms in a short time. But what about 2 kilos? This seems much easier to achieve and brings us less pressure. We can finally achieve the same goal. What's more, we will get much pleasure through everyday progress. In this way, self-discipline has never been suffering for me. Instead, it has become my own power. 

It's  that I can't eat it up.

In the near future, the doctors who treat our illness might be tiny machines that swim through our bodies. Some movies have played with the idea of making machines the size of a cell. Today robot technology has brought the idea closer to the real life. In my laboratory, I'm just trying to build such intelligent, or smart, tiny robots. 

Tiny living things, such as bacteria, have many intelligent actions. If we can make robots copy some of them, it's very exciting. The way bacteria travel across their environment is unbelievable. At first, they move around without purpose, but when they start sensing food, like an amino acid(氨基酸), they will move gradually in that direction. As an expert making robots, I think it is great to make tiny robots that can do the same thing. 

For example, look at something like E. coli(大肠杆菌). It can sense amino acids around it. It can change how it's moving. It can rebuild or repair itself. In fact, E. coli does all these so well that some researchers are using it as part of their tiny machines. They are making their tiny robots get free rides from E. coli. And E. coli does all the sensing for tiny robots and directs their movements. 

We' re already using smaller and smaller medical tools, like catheters(导管) that can travel deep into your brain to treat a blood clot. Next, we will put tiny robots into the body that can travel into even smaller spaces and treat illness at an early time. Imagine a tiny robot that can treat a blood clot deep in your brain that can't be reached with the catheters we are using today. 

We may not actually need something as powerful as artificial intelligence (AI) in these cases. We can still build a very useful tiny robot with a low degree of intelligence. For example, if a tiny robot notices a blood clot, it can slowly move in that direction, and carry medicine directly to that part. It might only have the intelligence of bacteria but could still work.
