All about rhinos

Rhinos are huge animals that have lived on the earth for millions of years.

Rhinos are huge, strong. The biggest kind is the white rhino. It can grow as tall as a man and weigh as much as 30 people! Their bodies are as long as a car. Some rhinos have one horn, while others have two.

Where do rhinos live?

These animals live in Africa and Asia. In Africa, they stay in open grasslands in countries like Kenya and South Africa. When the sun is hot, rhinos love to play in water. This keeps them cool and protects their skin from the sun.

What do rhinos eat?

Rhinos eat only plants.  Different rhinos have different shaped mouths to help them eat their favourite foods.

How are rhinos now?

Sadly, rhinos are in danger. Bad people hunt them for their horns. They're also losing their homes when human cities grow. The northern white rhino is almost gone — only two are left!

So we must help to save these special animals!

Do you think it's important to save animals like rhinos? Why? (不超过15词)

Rainforests cover six percent of the earth's surface. There are rainforests in many parts of the world, such as Africa and Southeast Asia. But the biggest rainforest is in South America. There aren't any rainforests in Antarctica.

A lot of animals live in rainforests, such as beautiful birds, insects and so on.Many of them live in the trees, over 30 metres from the ground. There are also thousands of different plants. Lots of them are tall trees! It is always hot in the rainforests and the ground is always wet. It is also very dark there.

The rainforests are very important for us. We need them! The trees and other plants in the rainforests help make the air clean. They also help control the weather.They give us wood, rubber (橡胶), fresh fruit and many of our medicines.

Unluckily, in many places, the rainforests are in danger. For example, many years ago, there was a large rainforest in Java (爪哇岛), but now there is nothing. The same thing happens now in many other parts of the world. We can never imagine a world without rainforests. If rainforests disappeared from the earth, we wouldn't find any trees, flowers or fruit. What's more, we wouldn't get clean air, and we wouldn't find any animals. The worst result would be that we wouldn't find any humans. We must do something to stop it.

Rainforests with countless species are rapidly disappearing across the world. The number of people living in the rainforest is rising, but the rainforest (it) is becoming smaller!

During the 20th century, huge areas of rainforest were cut down, while more and more people in (country) like Brazil and Indonesia moved into rainforest areas in search of land. Trees were cut down by farmers  wanted to grow crops. Large companies that seek rich resources moved into the rainforests  (develop) themselves.

The reduction of the rainforest is serious problem. The rainforest is home to millions of species, and scientists have warned  destroying it is harming the earth and should be stopped.

Why do scientists say so? Rainforest plants help to reduce dangerous gases and produce the oxygen  we breathe. In addition, different parts of rainforest plants can  (turn) into valuable medicines that may be the key to treating serious illnesses.

More than half the plants and animals that live in the rainforest cannot survive anywhere else. It is our responsibility to make sure that the rainforest is used  (wise) and protected well. We should use rainforest resources in a way that will not destroy them forever.
