In England, people's favourite food is fish and chips. People usually buy their favourite food in a fish and chip shop. They put it in paper bags, and take it home, or to their workplace. Sometimes they eat it in the park or on the road.

In the US, people like hamburgers a lot. If you go to some important cities in the world, you can find people eating hamburgers and chips. And they like to have cold drinks.

Italians (意大利人) like to eat pizza. In India, people like to eat hot food. Some people only eat fruit and vegetables. They don't like to eat meat or fish. They think green food is good for them.

Chinese food is also very popular in the world. Why? Because it has different tastes and it is usually very delicious. Dumplings are the best.

In many places the weather changes (改变) during the year. These changes are called seasons. In the north and south there are four seasons in a year. At the North Pole and South Pole, there are only two seasons. In tropical (热带的) places near the Earth's equator, there are two seasons: a "wet" season and a "dry" season. Each season brings changes. They are important for plants and animals that live in different parts of the world.

Spring starts when the day and night are the same length. The weather gets warmer and sunnier. Trees and plants start to grow. Many animals have their young in spring.

Summer begins on the longest day of the year. In the north this is on June 21 or 22. Summer is usually the warmest and sunniest time of the year. Fruits (果实) grow faster on trees and plants. Little animals grow bigger and stronger.

Autumn starts when the day and night are the same length again. During autumn, leaves (叶子) change color and fall down from the trees. Some animals collect food before winter comes, so they can eat it in winter.

Winter begins on the shortest day of the year. In the north this is on December 21 or 22. The weather is colder, and there is lots of snow in some places. Plants and trees stop growing. Some animals, like bats and bears, find places to hibernate (冬眠).

The Netherlands is well-known for its bicycles, too. There are more bicycles than people in some cities. You can ride a bicycle to go around.
