As we all know, Helen Keller was a successful writer and educator. However, her journey to success wasn't an easy one.

Helen Keller was born on June 27, 1880 in America. When she was 19 months old,her life took  unexpected turn. An illness left her deaf and blind. As a result,she could identify people only by touching their faces and it was difficult her to speak and share her thoughts and feelings. (lucky), Helen met her private teacher, Anne Sullivan. Anne first taught her how to feel objects and connect them with words. With her help, Helen later learned how to speak and write and even went to a university. At that time, all those(consider) impossible for a disabled person like her.

Helen's hard work finally paid off and she achieved great success in her life. She wrote and published many books, sharing with readers her (amaze) life stories and ideas. She also gave speeches around the world (encourage)people to help the disabled. She became one of the most famous and respected (mind) of her time.

Lots of people have noticed that teenagers are spending more time on their phones than before. They say the unhealthy information on the phone may be harmful to the teenagers. Besides, they are concerned that teenagers might waste a lot of their precious time on their phones.

The wind carried the good smell of fallen leaves and apples through the garden.Every branch hung down under the weight of apples. Birds sang happily and the air felt fresh. I followed Grandpa as we walked among the apple trees, feeling relaxed and comfortable with the soft wind brushing my face.

Seeing that my basket wasn't as full as before, Grandpa asked,"What has happened to your apples?" I told him I had shared some apples with the robins. Hearing this, Grandpa nodded smilingly and said,"Good work. Giving is sometimes more important than taking." His words warmed my heart, and the apples in my basket seemed sweeter than ever.

Behind every scientific discovery lies a lot of hard work. Tu Youyou, a Chinese scientist, is a perfect example of this. In 2015, she won a Nobel Prize for her work in fighting malaria(疟疾)—— one of the most dangerous diseases in human history.

Tu was born in Ningbo in 1930. From 1951 to 1955, she studied medicine at a university in Beijing. When she finished her studies, she worked at the Academy ofTraditional Chinese Medicine.

In the 1960s, many people died from malaria. In 1969, Tu became the leader of a team that tried to solve this problem. She collected more than 2,000 Chinese medical recipes(药方) and tested hundreds of ways to use them. After failing 190 times, she looked for ideas in old Chinese medicine books. Finally, she found out how to get some useful material from a herb(草本植物) called qinghao.

Later, her team tested the material on mice with malaria. They saved the mice successfully, but they still doubted if it was safe for humans. So Tu and her teammates offered to test it on themselves first. The test results showed that the material was safe for their bodies, which made the whole team very excited. With more tests and improvements, in November 1972, Tu and her team announced that they found an effective way to fight malaria.

From Tu's story, we learn that if we want to achieve great things, we have to keep trying, be brave, and respect the wisdom of the past.
