Do you know who William Shakespeare is?William Shakespeare was a poet and playwright (刷作家)and is widely known as the  (great)writer of the English language. His works include 38 plays, 154 sonnets(十四行诗)and some other poems. He is (particular)known for his plays. They have been translated  many other languages and are performed more often than those of any other playwright. 

Shakespeare was born in Stratford, England, in 1564. He came from a rich family,  _later his father lost all the money. He was not able to continue his education. 

He lefl for London and worked as  actor in a theatre in the early 1590s.
