Hello, I'm Tom. I'm an English boy. I come to China with my parents. I'm in an international middle school in Beijing. Now let's see one of my school days.

It's Friday. It's my favourite day. In the morning, I have four classes.  It begins at 8:00. I like it because I can speak Chinese with my classmates. Then I have two maths classes.  The last class in the morning is music. It's my favourite class and I can sing songs well.

I have lunch at 12:10.  My mother says they are good for my health. 

In the afternoon, I only have two classes.  I think it's interesting and I can know many places in China. The next is PE. I can play football with my classmates.  The afternoon classes finish at 5:00 in the afternoon. I usually get home around 6:00.

Eleven-year-old Emily Jones lives on an island (岛) in the Orkneys. Emily's island is very small and there are only thirty people living there, Emily enjoys her life on the island. She often goes fishing and swimming. But what about school?     Emily can see her school from her garden. It's a few kilometers (千米) away. The problem is that the building is on a different island and the journey (旅途) is very long. She travels by bike, by bus and by ship to get there. 

Like other children, Emily goes to school five days a week. She can take the ship every day in summer, and from Monday to Saturday in winter. The ship is small and only has space for twenty passengers (乘客) . Sometimes, Emily is the only passenger, but the workers in the ship are friendly and Emily likes them. 

Sometimes, the weather is bad and Emily gets to school late. The teachers understand this and never get angry with her. Classes like sport and music are never the first ones on a school day. She usually has maths, and the teachers often give her extra (额外的) help at lunchtime. 

Sometimes the weather is fine in the morning, but then it's bad in the afternoon. When this happens, Emily doesn't go home. She sleeps at a friend's house.

I am Wang Tao and I'm a new student in Sunny Middle School. It's a big and modern school.

The classrooms in my school are new. We spend most of time here. Look, all the classrooms have two big boards. One is a smart whiteboard in the front of the classroom, the other is a blackboard at the back of the classroom. Every classroom also has a television and some computers. They help us a lot.

I like the school library very much. A lot of books are in it. I always read books with my friends or my classmates there. If you can't find the books you like to read, please ask the teachers there for help. They're all nice.

I also like the gym. It is across from the dining hall. There are a lot of tables and chairs, big televisions and ping-pong tables in it. We can watch TV and play ping-pong there. I often play ping-pong with my classmates there.

There is a lost and found box next to the gym. If you lose (丢失) your things, you can put a lost notice with your name and phone number on the bulletin board (留言牌). It can help you to find your lost things.

Hi, boys and girls! I'm a student of Guangming Middle School in Jingzhou. The school has a history of 15 years. Now there are about 1,000 teachers and students in my school. I think my school is really cool.
