An official from the National Development and Reform Commission(NDRC) said on Tuesday that China will make the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region better. Government officials and experts said that much progress has been made in the region's coordinated development, especially in key areas like transportation and environmental protection. The region is becoming a world-class urban group. 

Mr. Guo, an NDRC official, said at a press conference that transportation, ecology and industry are the three key areas to make progress. Success has been made in all of them in the past ten years. For example, the integrated transportation network is getting faster, and a60-minute to 90-minute transportation circle around major cities is basically made. The ecological collaborative governance is working well. The regional PM2. 5 level went down by nearly 60 percent. 

The coordinated development has made the regional transportation network better. ③By the end of last year, the high-speed rail system was 2, 576 kilometers long and covered all prefecture-level cities.
