My family rules

There are some helpful rules in my family. Let me share them with you. 

Yang Tong is a young woman from Beijing. She often plays Frisbee（飞盘）with her friends at weekends. This sport is her favourite. It's relaxing and interesting for her.

At the foot of Wuzhishan Mountain of Hainan, a group of children were singing beautifully.They were dressed  Li . and Miao ethnic（民族的）clothes. "Before this,  (they)experience of music training or choir（合唱队）singing was zero. We  (guide) them step by step through the process of practicing," said Liu Min, the leader of the choir.

The scenic spot started the"Excha nge Trash for Gifts" activity in October 2024. How does it work? If visitors （收集；采集）the trash , they get some small gifts for free.

Helen Cowan, a 16-year-old teenager, was sitting in the garden one evening. Suddenly, she heard a loud noise from the street. As she1 outside, she saw a small crowd of people there.

Cats and dogs are often shown as enemies in TV shows or films but they can get on well in real life. New research suggests that the way they are introduced shapes how friendly they will be.

A study by the Dogs Trust Charity says that dogs are calmer and friendlier if they are introduced to cats gradually, over more than one day. It has been found that around one fifth (

20.1%) of pet owners introduce their new dog to their cats at once, while about 

18.9% do so in less than two hours.And then they find it hard to make the dog and cat become good friends.

"Most dogs show'unwelcome' behaviour when first introduced to a cat. For example, a dog would want to play when the cat isn't interested." said Dr Rachel Casey, from the Dogs Trust. "So you'd better take your time when introducing them. Wait until they are both well-prepared."

The study also discovered that a dog's age can influence their behiaviour towards cats. If. the dogs are younger than 12 weeks of age, they are more likely to be calm and relaxed; The study suggests that when dogs are introduced to cats over more than one day——particularly those younger than 12weeks, it is probable that they will build up a more peaceful and long-lasting relationship.

Another finding of the study is that dogs and cats should meet in a calm environment. Dr Rachel Casey suggests, "They should meet where everybody is sitting down and its really quiet. It would be better if cats have a way to run away, such as somewhere high up, in case they feel uneasy with the dog. And never set up the meeting at or near their own territories（地盘）。"

In April, Lego started a new project with its famous toy—Braille Bricks（盲文积木）——to help blind children learn to read and write.

Braille is a way of writing for blind people. It uses letters and numbers with groups of dots （圆点）, which are made into holes in paper. Then the blind can"read" those dots with their fingers. The invention of Braille changed the lives of blind people around the world. But learning to read and write Braille can be hard. It needs lots of practice, which can become really boring.

Lego's Braille bricks serve as a simple and fun way for children to learn Braille. Unlike the normal Lego bricks, the small dots on the bricks are put as Braille letters. Blind children can"read"the dots to learn Braille when playing with the bricks. Lego's Braille Bricks also have printed letters on them that match the Braille letters, so sighted（有视力的）children and blind children can play with the Lego bricks together.

What's more, Lego's Braille bricks are convenient to usc. Traditional Braille is often written with a special machine. It's hard to fix when children make a wrong letter, because the letter is"written" by hitting holes into the paper. Lego, on the other hand, can be moved around easily. If a student makes a mistake, correcting it is as simple as moving or changing a brick. That's important when children are learning to spell words.

So far, Lego's Braille bricks have been tried in four countries. Next, the Lcgo company plans to test them in more countries. The company wants to learn more about how children use the bricks and how the bricks could be improved.

Fabrice Mba is a 46-year-old Kungfu master. He teaches Kungfu and traditional Chinese medicine in several schools in Cameroon,a country in Africa.

As a child, he grew up with his brother, who worked at the cinema then. He helped him sweep the cinema. He recalled（回忆）when he saw Shaolin Kungfu movies for the first time, "I discovered Kungfu and Chinese culture. They are fascinating to me." He and his friends always followed the moves in the movies, but there was no Kungfu club to train them.

Mba's life changed when a group of Chinese engineers came to help set up a building near his home in the 1980s. One of the engineers could play Kungfu. To Mba's surprise, he was willing to teach Mba. His life took another turn in 2015 when he received help from the Confucius Institute （孔子学院） and got a valuable chance to learn Kungfu and traditional Chinese medicine in Shaolin Temple, Henan. After three years of study, he went back to his hometown to teach others. Mba säid, "I love Chinese culture. and I want more people to learn it, because it teaches people to be good."

Mba also helps young people who live a poor life. He started a program to give free job training lessons, such as Chinese medicine and other subjects. He wants young people to be useful to the country and avoid the problems he himself has faced before.

"Spreading Chinese culture in Cameroon doesn't mean turning Cameroonians into Chinese.Instead, it's like showing them a mirror, helping them realize that with hard work, they can live a better life, just like Chinese." Mba said.
