3、 鲸鱼对保护地球环境有很大作用
To fight against climate change, scientists have suggested whales as a solution. It turns out that whales are excellent at controlling CO2.
Whales remove CO2 from the air in two ways. First, they move nutrients from their eating areas deep in the ocean back to the surface, where they let go of them in their waste. Those nutrients help the growth of plants which take in CO2 from the air. Second, whales themselves collect CO2 in their bodies when they eat other animals. The total amount of the gas adds up to about33 tons over a whale's lifetime. When whales die, they take all that CO2 with them down to the ocean floor.
At one time, millions of whales were in the world's oceans. Unluckily, whaling brought many whales to death. Though many whales have been saved nowadays, they still face serious dangers. They are influenced by pollution from chemicals, noise, and lots of plastics that end up in the oceans.
Whales are important to the future health of our planet. ④If whale populations increased to what they were before whaling, whales could take in about 1. 7 billion tons of CO2 each year. Compare this to the high costs needed to plant forests, and you will see why whales might be an amazing solution. It might be difficult to realize, but it's worth fighting for.

9、 北京批准无人驾驶出租车服务于大兴国际机场
Beijing has given permits to robotaxi operators like Baidu Inc and Pony. ai, allowing them to offer driverless vehicle services at Beijing Daxing International Airport. This shows that Beijing is the world's first capital to have autonomous passenger vehicles between urban areas and the airport.
Industry experts say this is a milestone for China's intelligent transportation system and will further bolster the commercial application of self-driving technology.
The permits from the Beijing High-Level Automated Driving Demonstration Area let these companies offer services on 40-kilometer expressways and in some areas of the airport. A safety inspector must be in the car to take control if needed.
The Beijing government plans to expand the scope of demonstration zones for high-level autonomous driving and start self-driving services in key places like airports, railway stations and urban roads.
Zhang, a researcher at the Jiangxi New Energy Technology Institute, said the approval speeds up the commercialization of self-driving technology. Other first-tier cities might follow. He also said we need to build better intelligent transportation infrastructure.
Chen, general manager of Baidu's self-driving business unit, said the company is expanding its robotaxi fleet. Baidu's autonomous vehicles are operating in some cities. The company wants to make the world's largest fully driverless ride-hailing zone. Apollo Go has had many ride orders and patents.
A report said the market size of China's self-driving taxi services will be very big by 2030. China has policies to help self-driving technology. The country supports the commercial application of Level 3 and above autonomous driving systems.
The company Bloomberg NEF says the permits will help self-driving cars be tested and used more, especially on routes between transportation hubs and urban roads. China will have the world's largest robotaxi fleet by 2040.

They believe it might be the world's flush toilet. Although it's nearly impossible the upper parts of it, what's left is still in good shape.
"It is the first and only flush toilet that has been unearthed in China, " said Liu, a researcher. "Everybody on the research team was when we found it, and then we all. "
Described by researchers as a" luxury(奢华的) object", the toilet is thought to have been located inside the palace. The researchers believe this toilet was for important people between the Warring States Period and the Han Dynasty and might have been used by Duke Xiao of Qin or father, Duke Xian of Qin. Many plants and animals around the world are moving to cooler places because of global warming.
Scientists did research on more than 4, 000species from around the world. They found that about half of them are on the move. To find mountains, and heading from the equator to the poles. Animals on land are moving more than 16kilometers every 10 years, while sea animals are moving four times faster.
In North America, for example, pikas(鼠兔) used to climb 13 meters every 10 years. But since the late 1990s, they have climbed an average of 145 meters every 10 years. Also, moths on the mountains in Borneo, a large island in the Pacific Ocean, moved 67 meters up the mountain between 1965 and 2007 to get away from rising temperatures.
Moving species can cause problems. As species move to new areas, the local environment and other animals may not be able to deal with it. In Australia's seas, tropical fish are coming in and eating the kelp forests. This is bad news for the local rock lobster as it also feeds on kelp forests.
Scientists also warn that the movement of species can make climate change more serious. Take bark beetles as an example. They are harmful and can cause more trees to die. As a result, these trees offer more fuel for forest fires, giving off more planet-warming carbon dioxide, reported The Guardian.
"Climate change is still going on. There is a risk that many species may die out as a result of all these changes, " a professor of the University of York, UK, told The Independent.
