When talking about the impression of China, people think of "flower" at first. With rich natural resources, China is called "Mother of the World's Gardens" by British plant expert Wilson. Flowers are not only beautiful, but also very useful.

Chinese people have cooked with flowers for a long time. Records show Shang Dynasty cooks used flowers in meals. Poet Qu Yuan ate chrysanthemums (菊花) during the Warring States Period. In the Song Dynasty, people enjoyed plum flowers (梅花) with rice porridge. Today, many places keep this tradition. The Dai people cook banana flowers, while Shaanxi locals love fried locust flowers (刺槐花). Eating flowers isn't just about taste—it connects people with nature's seasons.

In life, we never know when we might face danger. When we deal with thesituation, a clear mind and a brave heart are very important.

Pickleball（匹克球）: A sour name, a sweet game

How do you play? First, you serve the ball underhand – hitting the ball from below your waist（腰）.  The ball must bounce (弹回) once on each side before players hit it in the air. There is also a special area near the net called the "Kitchen." You cannot stand inside it unless the ball bounces there first.

The Eye of the Sahara is one of earth's most amazing natural wonders. It's a special place in the desert of Mauritania, Africa. Looking from the sky, it looks like a huge, bright eye! It is as long as about 438 football fields. The Eye looks like a big round pizza with different coloured parts.

How was it made? Millions of years ago, the ground under the sand started to rise up. Then, wind and rain slowly wore away (磨薄) the soft rocks, leaving the hard ones behind. Over time, these hard rocks made the beautiful circles we see today. From above, you can count about 20 round circles. Each one has a different colour. The biggest circle is on the outside, with smaller ones inside.

What can we do to help? Scientists are studying the Eye to find ways to protect the rocks from sand. Some people also suggest building a small road or a simple visitor centre nearby. This way, more tourists can come and see the Eye of the Sahara.

Doing sports is important to our lives. 

To keep fit, many people walk to work. When they start walking, they turn on the pedometer（计步器）. Their phones will record how many steps（步数）they walk that day. After a day of walking, some people show this number on their phones. This makes them learn from each other and keep exercising. 

"It helps me to exercise more. I often talk with my friends about how to stay healthy. We work in the same team to cheer each other on to keep exercising," Miss Song said.

I'm a food lover. I love different foods, but the most  ones are my mum's noodles. They are  favourite food!

When Mum starts making noodles, the smell  our house. The smell of fresh vegetables, meat, and soup is amazing,  it makes me feel so warm. This smell  means "home" to me. 

After a while, the noodles are done. The first taste is like magic. The noodles are soft. The soup tastes so good. The vegetables are fresh and the meat is tender（嫩的）. When the noodles are touching my tongue（舌头）, it's like having a party  my mouth. 

I love these noodles not just for their amazing taste, but for the love behind them. Mum hopes that I can eat well. She always finds the best way to make sure I  my meal. She spends a long time  a bowl of noodles to make me happy. 

These noodles are full of Mum's love and a symbol（象征）of our warm . They bring back so many good . I hope this warm taste from Mum will stay with me forever（永远）. 

Scientists carried out a new study with mice. They found that what you eat as a child may affect（影响）your body later. 

According to the scientists, eating food with lots of fat and sugar when you are young can change your gut microbiomes（肠道微生物群）. Even when you grow up and eat healthy food, the differences stay. 

▲ Scientists put young mice into four groups. Half the mice ate healthy food and exercised, and the other half only ate unhealthy food. After three weeks, all mice started eating the same healthy food and stopped exercising. They stayed this way for eight weeks. Then scientists checked their gut microbiomes. 

The mice who had eaten unhealthy food had fewer good bacteria（细菌）to get energy from food. Scientists thought having fewer good bacteria made it tough for the mice to get energy. It was not as easy as when there were lots of good bacteria. This change happened whether the mice exercised or not. 

One of the scientists said the result was similar for children. If children eat unhealthy food, their gut may still have changes six years after they grow up. This shows that eating healthy food early is important. The small living things in your gut can stay with you for a long time.
