Do you like travelling? These days, my college classmates are (发疯的) about "special forces style" tourism, They (更喜爱) to spend the least time and money visiting the most (风景). I also want to have a try, so I had a one-day trip with my friend to Xi' an. 

We made a (清单) about the places we wanted to go to. The first was the Terracotta Army. They looked similar to (人) very much. Our guide patiently explained to us why Qin ShiHuang built it. There are about 7, 000 soldiers in(总共), Later, we hurried to the Shaanxi History Museum. We were watching the works of art while our guide was explaining the meaning of them. Before leaving, I bought some stamps as presents. In the evening, we went to the Muslim Quarter Night Market, because I was hungry and (渴的) then, None of the night markets could be livelier. The street vendors. (供应) all kinds of delicious food. We knew more about the  (文化) in our country. 

It's (无疑的) that it was the best trip I have ever taken. Such a trip can bring a much brighter colour to my busy school life!

"Slash career" comes from the punctuation mark (标点符号) "/". People with slash careers often have a main job. It usually2 their needs of life. The main job comes before the slash. And the job after the slash is often about a person's3 . It can help make people's life colorful.

Why do people want more than one job? On the one hand, a second career can be enjoyable if it is about interests. A second career actually helps with work life balance. It also gives people a chance to learn more skills and4 their creativity. On the other hand, it helps people make more5 to become rich.

However, a slash career can be6 for work-life balance. Having more than one job may7 much time. People with slash careers need to think carefully about how to spend their time. They need to know when to stop8 .

Some companies prefer to hire people with slash careers. They think that it shows the person is9 and willing to work hard. Besides, young people with slash careers seem to have more10 to deal with the changes at work and do a better job.

When planning for your future, are you more interested in getting a job or having a career? There is a difference between the two. A job is something that will provide you with money. A career, however, is perhaps more satisfying because you will be able to follow your interests. 

Zhong Fangrong, from a poor family in Hunan, is now a Beijing University student. She was once faced with this choice. Many people advised her to study economics (经济学) or business. A degree in these subjects would lead to a good job and good pay. It would make her be able to help her poor parents. But Zhong has decided to study archaeology (考古学). She wants to choose a career that she is fond of. 

Making a lot of money is good. However, I think being happy in your work is even better. Money, as it is said, can't buy happiness, so it makes no sense to spend your life doing work that makes you unhappy. 

If you are not sure about your future work, you should ask your parents and teachers for advice. You should also look for role models. In Zhong's case, her role model is the famous archaeologist Fan Jinshi. Fan has studied the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang for more than fifty years. When Zhong wrote to Fan about her interest in archaeology, Fan replied with some advice. I think all of you should follow it: "Don't forget your dreams. Keep them alive and focus on your studies." 

There are many kinds of work. People do different things in their work. We talked to three young people about their careers. Read about them. 

Jane, 22: I 'm a travel agent. I plan vacations for different kinds of people. I need to buy plane tickets, book hotel rooms and make travel plans. I pay attention to the needs of my customers and help solve their travel problems. I really like the working hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm every day. And I can buy plane tickets at very low prices. 

Grace,24:I sell electronics in a store. I help people make decisions about choosing and buying electronics. I need to know clearly about the information of each product in our store. I'm a fan of technology, so I think it's always interesting to learn about new electronics. Sometimes I have to work late at night, but I still enjoy my work. And they pay me very well. 

Mike,25:I'm a website designer. I make websites for different companies. To make a website for a company, I learn about the company and its needs first. I write down some ideas. After that, I talk to people at the company again to improve my design. Then I complete the website. I like to create new things. I feel so happy when I see the results of my work. Also, I work on my computer at home. This means I can decide my own working hours and have more time with my family.
