Everyone can make a good change in the community. Helping others and giving back to the community is a dream for many people. Caleb is one of them. Let's have a look at his story.
My name is Caleb, and I started an organization called Kid Changemakers.
When I was six years old, I wanted to make a difference in my community.I wanted to be a volunteer to help people who were in trouble. But I found that kids had to be at least 18 years old to volunteer. So I decided to start my own organization, Kid Changemakers.
Kid Changemakers works with schools and other organizations to initiate lots of food and clothing collection activities throughout the year to help the homeless and others in need. For example, nearly two thousand students emptied out their desks in the last week of school. We got boxes and boxes of things for others. All my classmates were very supportive of the organization, and a lot of them were very excited to help. Some of them asked me when the next programme would be.
At the beginning, I was a little shy about talking to people about volunteering and helping others. But as I get older and really see the difference I have made, I am more confident about speaking in front of people.
Everyone, no matter how old you are or who you are, can make a difference.I really hope that everyone can volunteer. And I will continue to do it in the future too.
