②Back in 2024, some friends and I went to an animal shelter outside of Beijing. There, I was able to give food to the animals. There were not only dogs here, however. I saw many kinds of other animals as well, such as foxes and chickens. Still, our main goal was to help the dogs by giving them walks. Many of the dogs were kept in big cages (笼子) along with other dogs and ate from a big bowl together. I felt a bit sad for the dogs because many of them looked old and needed a bath.

③However, I made sure to give one of the dogs a good walk. I remember it was a big black dog with curly hair. The dog was very gentle, but it did not want to walk very far.      ▲      Still, when I took out a tennis ball to play fetch, it really enjoyed it. ④All in all, volunteering for the dog shelter is helpful for both the workers and the dogs. I really enjoyed my time there. You should try volunteering at an animal shelter too. I highly recommend (推荐) it!

Charlotte's Web is a famous children's novel, the American writer E.B. White wrote it. The novel tells the story of a pig named Wilbur and his friendship with a spider named Charlotte on a farm. When Wilbur is in danger of being killed for his meat by the farmer, Charlotte writes messages to praise Wilbur in her web and saves him. Wilbur becomes famous in the village and he is safe in the end. When it came out in 1952, both adults and children liked the book, because it's not only about the friendship but also about the love. It is still very popular today.

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is written by Kate Dicamillo. The book is about an unusual journey of a china rabbit named Edward Tulane. He travels from one place to another, meeting many people. During his journey, he learns to love and finally finds love again.

I didn't expect this project to be so hard at the beginning. On my way home, the "baby" suddenly cried. I was quite worried and tried to calm her down. Her crying made everyone look at me. This made me feel very shy. Finally, I calmed down my "baby" by rocking (摇晃) her for a long time, even though my arms and back hurt.

Once I got home, I decided I was going to finish my homework. I placed my baby on my bed and started my work. I thought the "baby" would give me some time but I was wrong. Just about 10 minutes later, she started crying again. I spent a lot of time rocking and feeding her to calm her down, even at 3:30 am.

Through this, I now have a deeper understanding about my parents. They have to look after love and care for their child almost all the time. I only had the "baby" for one day, but parents do this for years. Even if we try to help them later on, we can never give back to them as much as they give us. We should thank them for what they did for us.

At home, mother gave the seeds to Jane and said, "I have3 planted the seeds before, you need to learn how to plant them yourself. Different4 need different things. Some need little sunshine or water, but some need a lot."

What is it like to fly like a bird, but in the water? Well, there's a cool Chinese diver (跳水运动员) named Quan Hongchan.

Quan Hongchan was born on March 28, 2007 in Guangdong Province. She learned to dive when she was seven years old. She showed her amazing diving skills. In the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Quan was only fourteen years old. During the women's 10-metre platform (跳台) event, her dives were perfect (完美的). She got the highest score and won the gold medal! This was her first gold medal. She practiced day and night. In the 2024 Paris Olympics, Quan won two gold medals!

When people asked Quan the secret of her success, Quan said nothing but hard work and love for diving. Quan is really hard-working. She never gives up when things get difficult.

Quan Hongchan becomes a great diving star. Her story teaches us a lesson: with hard work and love, we are most likely to be successful.

Last summer, we take a family trip to Guilin. It was my   

one time to go there. It's no secret that Guilin is famous   

as its beautiful mountains and waters. So I felt really excited.   

On July 26th, we decidedgo to the Lijiang River. In the   

morning, we got on the bus. After fourhours ride, we arrived there.   

We went boating on the river and enjoyed the landscapes

onall sides of the river. It was so beautiful! After that,   

we played by the river. I used the rocks to make a "bridge".

My parents weresurprising at my "bridge". Then we spent   

half an hourbuild a "man-made river" together. It was a little   

difficult for us,and finally we made it. In the evening,   

we went to a campfire party. People sang and dancedhappy.   

We had great fun. It was an exciting trip!

There was amazing story between me and a little bird. One day, my father back home and gave me a little bird. He told me the bird fell off a big tree. got hurt and could not fly back. I decided to look after it. I made a warm nest (巢), prepared food and watered for it. Very soon I made with the bird. Some days later, the bird grew much than before. A few months later, the bird grew up and flew higher. I thought I should let it go back to because it is birds' best home. I let it fly away on a sunny day. I was very happy I saved a life. I will never forget every with the little bird. The little bird touched my heart and me to help others.
