Do you know Xiang Tuo? He was a smart boy in ancient China. When he was 7 years old, he even  (become) Confucius's teacher! 

One day, Confucius(孔子) and his students were riding a chariot(马车). They saw a group of  (boy) building a sand castle on the road. Confucius asked them  (move), but Xiang Tuo stood up and said, "Why does a castle move for a chariot? The chariot should go around  castle to get to the other side."

Confucius thought to  (he), "The boy is so clever! " He asked Xiang Tuo many difficult questions. The boy answered all of them  (wise). 

Then Confucius wanted to play a guessing game with him,  Xiang Tuo said no. "Games like this waste time. They are not  (use)." he said. Confucius nodded and smiled. Xiang Tuo's wisdom and  (confident) amazed him. He told his students, "We can always learn  others, even children."

There are many ways to make money while you are travelling.  You can also teach kids English or get work on ski fields in winter.

TOKYO, July 14, 2024-How much salt do you like to put on your food? Salt makes food taste better. And our bodies need a small amount of salt to stay healthy. However, eating too much salt can be bad for our health. For example, it can increase the possibility of having a stroke. 

The bad news is that a lot of people are eating too much salt nowadays. In Japan, people eat about ten grams of it a day. It is five grams more than the doctor suggests. But the good news is that now there may be an answer to this problem. An electric spoon can make food taste saltier than it really is! 

Japanese drinks company Kirin Holdings has released the "Electric Salt Spoon". It uses electricity to increase the taste of salt in food by one and a half times. In 2021, Kirin surveyed people who had cut down on the amount of salt in their diet. It found 80% of them weren't happy with the taste of food with less salt. To solve the problem, Kirin developed the "Electric Salt Spoon". With the help of it, people can enjoy their meals without eating too much salt. 

Kirin is also working on electric chopsticks. However, it decided to release electric spoons first because many people wanted to enjoy noodles and soup with stronger salty taste. Kirin plans to sell electric spoons around the world next year. It is expected(预期) that they will reach 1, 000, 000 people in five years. 

When we think about plants, we often think of trees, flowers, and grass. Most of these plants have green leaves and roots growing into the ground. But do you know some plants are not like most plants? 

Some plants look like stones. They are called "stone plants" or "living stones". They live in very hot, dry places and hold water very well. Their shape helps them to hide so animals do not eat them. 

Some plants eat meat. They capture insects and even some other small animals with their leaves. Like many other plants, meat-eating plants get most of the energy from sunlight. But animal snacks can provide them with extra food when they grow on poor soils. 

Air plants live in trees high above the ground. They can grow on tree branches and take in water from air. Many people like to grow air plants at home because they are easy to take care of. They don't need the soil and people only need to water them every week. 

Some catcus plants are covered with wool-like hairs. The "wool" protects them from daytime heat and nighttime cold. It also helps them hold water. Catcus plants usually grow in the desert. They can live for over a year without rain. 

There are many more kinds of amazing plants in the world. They make our planet a beautiful place. 

When my sister Becky was young, she didn't like dogs. However, everything 1 when my uncle had to go away for a week and left his dog Rex with us. 

Rex followed Becky everywhere and it made her2 . One day, to get away from Rex, Becky tied him to a chair and went for a walk in the forest.
