Socrates is a great thinker and teacher. One day, he says to his students, "Today you are going to learn new exercise, swinging arms(摆臂) forward and then backward." 

He tells his students how to do the exercise. Then he asks his students to swing their arms 300 times every day. "Do you think you can do it?" Socrates asks the students. They laugh and say,"Of course. It is not complicated." So all the students tell Socrates that they will do the exercise every day.

A month later, Socrates asks his students, "Which of you do the exercise every day?"    ※     Socrates is happy that all the students do it. 

Another month goes by. He asks the class the same question, but only 80% of the students put up their hands. A year goes by, and Socrates asks the class the question again. But this time only one student puts up his hand. The student is Plato. He becomes a great thinker later.

Today, more and more parents ask their children to play sports every day, because they worry about their children's health. They want to know more ways to help children keep healthy.

Being healthy means a person eats well and gets enough physical exercise. If you are healthy, your mind works well and feels good. Here are some rules you can follow to keep healthy.

Eat all kinds of foods. You may have your favorite food, but it is important to eat all kinds of foods. Try to eat least five kinds of fruits and vegetables a day, two fruits and three vegetables.

Spend less time on screen. Some children spend much time watching TV, playing computer games or using smart phone. These three sitting down activities are really bad for your health. Try to spend no more than two hours a day on screens.

Be active. You need to find what activities you like as a child. Not everyone loves baseball or soccer. Maybe your favorite is swimming or dancing. You can write down the enjoyable things when your mom says it's time to stop playing computer games!

Do you have a beautiful dream? I think everyonedreams in their life. The are very important to them. The dreams can make them work hard. I am studying in a senior high school now and I am in English. My dream is to beEnglish teacher in West China.

Last year, when I visited there, I found that many children wanted to go to school,they couldn't. Their families were very poor and the parents didn't havemoney to let their children go to school. I think that going to school and studying hard are the only way to changelife. All in all, those places need teachers greatly

The Kennedy Elementary School band(乐队) is special. That's because Tony Boland, a member of it , is a 79- year-old flute (长笛) player. His story tells us that you're n never too old to toot the flute.

After working at the school for more than ten years, Tony joined the fifth graders(五年级学生) in the band. His grandchildren were at the school. He helped children with their reading.

He started tooting the flute many years ago, when his wife tried to throw away(扔掉)their daughter's flute. "You will play better if you play with others, he told a reporter. Brian Enabnit thought Tony would make a difference to (对..有影响)the band. "He's great. He's helping the students around him," Enabnit said.

Tony practices with the students once a week and performs (表演)with them. They played at the Dubuque Community School District's Band Festival earlier this month.

Fifth-grade student Courtney Less thought her older classmate was successful.

"He's an excellent player," Courtney said. "All of us are afraid when giving a performance, but he isn't."
