Self-disciplined (自律的)people are not all great people. nearly all great people are self-disciplined people.Some of them read every day.Some of them never run late.The real difference between great people and common people that great people can  manage their time well.That's where their (succeed)comes from.What people call self-disciplined is in fact self-management.

One example is staying fit.Never underestimate(低估)someone who is in good shape. Anyone has ever tried to lose weight knows that it's not easy.It's even harder to avoid(put)weight back on.If someone is in good shape,it shows that he knows the principles ( 原 则 )of staying  fit  and  is  able to stick a plan that uses these principles.

A Self-disciplined person is often good at managing(them)and their time.Whether it is natural or learned,it is great skill.

So if someone is in good shape,he or she is more than just (health).

How do you learn self-management?First of all,set a goal and write down your reasons for  wanting (achieve)it.Create a list of all the things you need to do to achieve this goal and start to work on one of them at a time.

With self-discipline,small things in life will no longer trouble you.Only through self-discipline can you (true)own your future.

Have you ever noticed how a kind word from a friend can turn your whole day around?Kindness is one of the simplest yet most powerful things in the world. 

Small acts of kindness can be done anywhere and anytime.Holding the door for someone,giving a sincere compliment ( 真诚的赞美),or sharing your lunch with a friend who forgot theirs—these little actions cost nothing but mean a lot. 

Scientists have studied the effects of kindness and made an interesting discovery.

When you do something kind for others,your brain produces chemicals that make you feel happier.  In other words,kindness doesn't just help the person receiving it—it also helps the person giving it.

 Think about a time when someone helped you without expecting anything in return.Didn't it make you want to pass that kindness on to someone else? That's how kindness spreads,like ripples(涟漪)on a lake after a stone is thrown in.

The best thing about kindness is that anyone can practice it. So why not start today?Smile at a stranger.Help a younger student with their homework.Thank your teacher for their hard work.You might be surprised at how much better you feel afterward.

At an early age,we start learning how to manage money by watching our parents' spending habits.Don't worry if we haven't learned well how to save or spend money.The following life lessons about money can help us form good spending habits.

Money doesn't grow on trees.As kids,we don't often think about where money comes from.We need to know that our parents work hard to make money,and that it may be used up one day.Going to their workplaces to watch how they work is a great way to understand money is not that easy to make.

We shouldn't spend all our money in one go.It's important for us to have a budget( 预 算).In other words,we need to think about how much money we have and what we really want to spend it on.Realizing that our pocket money can't cover everything we want,we should make smart spending choices.

We should set a clear goal and watch our money grow.If we wish to own a new bicycle but can't afford it,we can save our pocket money.How?Write down how much money we have in a notebook and watch it grow.After we have enough,we can buy that wonderful bicycle we've dreamed about!Reaching our goal will greatly satiate us.

Help lids learn and grow.Become a big brother or big sister,or volunteer for an afler-school sports program.

Give back over the holidays.Serve Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless,volunteer at your local food bank,or give away toys to kids.

Play with pets at a local animal refuge.Most centers depend on volunteers to keep the cats and dogs happy and well-exercised.And when you're walking saved dogs,you get a chance to exercise.

Help protect the environment.Join an environmental protection group.You don't have to be an outdoor skilled person,because you could also help out in an office or education center.

Support a health-related cause.Lots of Americans know people who have a medical problem.It can fcel good to donate your time to an organization that raises money for research,serves meals,or offers other help to people with an illness.
