"You pretty, he ugly. You swan, he frog!" Foreign people just love this Chinese idiom going around the·96·Chinese Internet.
It all started when a foreign girl named Kris posted a sad photo online. It looked like her boyfriend made her cry. Some nice Chinese people tried to comfort her. They asked her to find someone better. Some also made funny Chinglish to make her feel happy, such as"You swan, he frog." This means that the girl is pretty while her boyfriend is ugly. Many foreigners found it cool. Some of them got interested in the Chinese stories behind Chinglish.
In the past, people often corrected those who spoke Chinglish because it was full of grammar mistakes. However, with globalization, people from different countries can now share their ideas more often. Different ways of speaking English are becoming common and even accepted. English with Chinese local characteristics can also be popular. For example, the well-known"add oil" has now appeared in the Oxford Dictionary.
Now more and more foreigners are finding the humor in Chinglish. These expressions have become a hit among them. It's great that more Chinese culture is being shared with the rest of the world.
(1)、How did some Chinese people comfort Kris?(2)、What is"Chinglish"?(3)、With globalization, what changes have taken place in using English?(4)、What does the underlined word"them" refer to?(5)、What's the author's attitude (态度) towards the popularity of Chinglish expressions? -

Millions of Australians may drink recycled water in ten years! You will know what the story is after reading this article.
Sydney Water is a government-owned company that provides water services for over 4 million people in Sydney. It considers using purified recycled water(净化再生水, PRW) in the future.
Sydney depends on rain for 85 percent of its water supply(供应), and the remaining part comes from sea water. However, there is not enough for the growing population. PRW then becomes a good choice.
PRW is water recycled from industry and homes—— including from kitchens, showers, and even toilets——that has been purified to meet the standards of drinking water. Before reaching the customers, it needs to be treated three times by three different treatment plants(污水处理厂), each with many strict steps. In the process, PRW will mix with river water for the final drinking water.
To help the public understand and accept PRW more easily, Sydney Water has opened a discovery center. A small amount of PRW is produced there, but it does not go into Sydney's drinking water supply. The water is just used to help explain the technology to the public. In the center, Sydney Water also holds many"taste test" activities which allow people to taste PRW.
The replies from communities have shown a big possibility of the use of PRW in the future.
"We should continue trying to meet the needs of our growing population. That means making better use of the water we already have and planning a safe water supply for the future. We are ready and have the courage to deal with any challenge in the way," a government official said.
Possible use of PRW in Australia
The company Sydney Water considers solving local drinking water problem by purifying in the future.
Background:
★The normal supply of water in Sydney(rain and sea water) can't serve the growing population.
of producing PRW:

Popularization: A discovery center has been opened.

★It holds activities to let people taste PRW.
Opinions:
★Common people's:
Most people the idea of drinking PRW.
A government official's:
Both the water they have and PRW will be used well in the future.
There may be some challenges, but they are ready to deal with them bravely.

Everyone likes a good laugh from time to time, and science supports that feeling. Studies have shown that laughing is related to our physical health, feelings—— even our relationships.
To understand why we laugh, let's go back to our very beginnings. Think back to a time when fast food was a four-legged animal running away from us, and we had to hunt(猎杀) it down to fill our stomachs. At the same time, there were also animals running towards us, hunting us down to feed themselves. At such times, our ancestors would have been under great stress. So it makes sense that when the danger finally passed, early humans shared a laugh with one another as if to tell the group everything was OK, and that there was no need to be afraid of what was happening around them.
A long-running study of couples at the University of California of more than 150 long-term relationships that started in 1989 has shown that laughter is the glue that keeps people together. "Laughter can make it easier for couples to communicate and keep their relationships," one researcher said.
What's more, laughter is 30 times easier to happen together with others than when one is alone. Laughter is contagious. You' re much more likely to laugh if you hear someone else laughing.
Laughter is like a pill in your medicine box to help you feel better. And it's free. So don't think it is silly or worthless. If you want to use the magic power of laughter, a funny movie might help—— but it's really the connections laughter builds with other people that count.
