Different countries have different ideas about manners ——  how you behave when  you are eating. In England,table manners are important. Good table manners in England are as follows:

Do you know what the world's highest waterfall is? You may say that it is Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls are really very beautiful, but in terms of(就……而言) height, the most fantastic falls in the world are Angel Falls.They are deep in the jungles of Venezuela.

Few people have ever seen Angel Falls. It's very hard to get there. If you went by car, you would have to travel for weeks through jungles. If you went by plane from Caracas, a city on the southern coast, it would take about four hours.

The fascinating falls are God's gift to nature. One of the most interesting facts about Angel Falls is how they were found. They were named after an American pilot. His name was Jimmy Angel. In 1937, he crashed (坠毁)his plane near the top of the falls. That's how he found them.

Angel Falls drop nearly a kilometer (about 979m) from a table-top mountain. The water seems to be dropping straight out of the clouds. The height of the falls is so great that by the time the water reaches the ground, it has already turned into fog.

Having a strong body and good mental health is important. Recently, a new survey  (调查)  looked into teenagers' mental condition in 28 places in China and got answers from 21,500 teenagers.

My parents and I moved to England two years ago. I'm studying in a middle school in London. Now I get used to the life here. Let me tell you something about it.

In China, our food is a little hot and salty, but I like it because I think such kind of food tastes nice. I still remember the first meal that I ate at school in England. It included a kind of soup that tasted terrible. I didn't have it at all. But I also felt disappointed because they were really awful.

In China, when we meet someone for the first time, we shake hands. I was so surprised when my friend's mother gave me a kiss when I saw her for the first time.

Transport

When I want to go somewhere in China, I can ride my bicycle. The buses don't stop automatically (自动地) like they do in Beijing. I have to put my hand out and press a button.

Socializing(社交)

I remember I went to a friend's house with a big cake two days after I moved to England.She was trying to be polite, but from her expression I knew that I did something wrong. In England, a cake is only given as a gift on someone's birthday.

Water is one of the most useful things on the earth. We drink it, wash with it and cook with it. However, it can also be 1 .

Laugh and cry together.

Laughing with a friend is the best, but sometimes it's crying that brings you closer together. Don't be afraid to be yourself with your friends. Share your true feelings—you may learn that your friends feel the same way. As a result, friends will understand each other better.

Gift-giving isn't just for birthdays or holidays—it can be a fun way of making your friends feel special! But don't buy expensive presents—be creative! In a fun class activity, Mr. Li gave each of us a balloon. He asked us to1 them up and then write our names on them. It was so cool to hear the balloons getting bigger and see everyone writing their2 with colorful markers. Then we were asked to put them into the hall.

A small food store owner found it was difficult to keep records of the product information. In 1948, he contacted (联系) the Drexel Institute of Technology to solve this problem. Bernard Silver was interested in it and he began tolook intoit. Silver and his students realized their answer in the form of ultraviolet light (紫外线), ink and a scanner (扫描仪).

The system did work at first, but it's very expensive and sometimes the system didn't work well. If the invention was to become popular in grocery stores, the problems had to be solved. Finally, Silver solved them.

The patent (专利权) for the bar code system was asked by Silver and Woodland in 1949. But the patent was not given until 1952. Although this patent was given, the system was still not popular among store owners. In 1966, the system began moving its way into more grocery stores.

Logicon developed the Universal Grocery Products Identification Number (通用标识码) in 1970. Marsh's superstore in lroy was the first store to set up this bar code reading system. It became very popular ever since, and now it's obviously popular in all types of stores worldwide (在世界各地).

First, we begin learning our music. We usually start by learning the notes, and then we add the words. Someone comes in to teach us the meaning and pronunciation of the lyrics(歌词) if the words are not in English.

Next, we keep the whole song in mind, even if we only sing part of it. One of the hardest pieces we sang this year was Tjak. It has four parts, each with a different rhythm (节奏).

Once we add dynamics (力度变化) to our songs to give them life, it's time to addchoreography. Jacque Bird, the director, tells us to connect the words we sing to our movements as we breathe and count in our heads.

As we get closer to the concert night, the rehearsals (彩排) get harder. My knees and arms start to hurt. But once we get a break and some food, we come back feeling better. We rehearse on weekends for almost a month beforehand. Every moment is important and worth it.

The real excitement comes during the rehearsal, when we meet our guest artists. This year, YPC invited Mandy Gonzales, Alexandra Socha, and Time for Three to join us. After hearing that we would work with them, we jumped up and down.

Showtime! We sang with musical guests and performed wonderful dances. At the end of the night, we shouted with excitement. For all of us, pulling off the biggest performance of the year felt great.
