 The Mid - Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the eighth month in our Chinese lunar calendar. But in Ningbo, it is on the 16day. One student told a story to explain this. During the Song Dynasty, a person named Shi Hao would celebrate the festival with his mother every year in his hometown Ningbo. To his        surprise, everyone there was waiting for him to celebrate. The story shows the importance of family reunions(团聚)in Chinese culture.

We believe telling stories is a good way to help foreigners understand China better.

In October 2023, Gabriel Boric, the president of Chile(智利的总统),went on a trip to China and had some amazing experiences!

On the 14 , President Boric started his trip to China and spoke to students at Sichuan University in Chengdu. He told them it's important to learn about different cultures and not to judge(评价)them without understanding them first. Later, he visited a teahouse to experience tea culture and tried local(当地的)food.

The next day, he arrived in Beijing. During the following days, he climbed the Great Wall and visited the Forbidden City. In the visitor's book on the Great Wall, he wrote, "I feel happy and proud(满足的)to be here on the Great Wall. It shows how the Chinese people have worked for peace in history, and now it is a symbol of different cultures coming together with nature."

On the night of the 18th, he went to the Panjiayuan Night Market. At the market, he looked for something special to bring back home. Finally, a lovely painting ornament(装饰品) caught his eye, and he made a great deal(交易) with the seller, thanks to his Chinese language skills.

What a fun president!

Langshan Mountain, lying in Xinning County, is about 500 kilometers away from Changsha. It is one of China's National Geological Parks and is famous for its special Danxia landform (丹霞地貌).

Covering an area of 108 square kilometers, Langshan Mountain has rich natural scenery and lots of tourism resources. There are more than 60 scenic spots(景点) in Langshan Mountain, among which the most famous are Tianyi Lane(天一巷),Chili Peak(辣椒峰)，Bajiao Stronghold(八角寨) and so on.

On August 2 , 2010, Langshan Mountain was recorded in the World Heritage List《世界遗产名录》and became China's eight world natural heritage.

If you would like to visit Langshan Mountain, you can take a bus from Shaoyang South Station to Xinning County. It will take you about 2 hours and the price of the bus ticket is 54 yuan each adult. Then you can take a taxi to Langshan Mountain. The best time to visit Langshan Mountain is from March to October.

The Amazing Octopus

Among the many amazing animals in the world, few are as and unusual as the octopus. There are around 300 different kinds of octopuses, and they come in all . The smallest is only around 2.5 centimetres long, but some octopuses can grow up to more than five metres long. There was even an octopus over nine metres long!

The octopus's body is very interesting. All octopuses have eight arms. Their brain is not just in their head, but also in their arms! This helps them to think about and do more than one thing at once. Octopuses can also into small places because they do not have any bones! And did you know that octopuses have three hearts? These hearts work with different parts of the body.

Octopuses can also do many amazing things. Most of them can change their colour and shape to look like or other sea animals, and they can also make ink. They keep it inside a very small bag in their body. When they ink, the ink makes it hard for other animals to see them. This helps the octopuses to get away fast. What's more, when an octopus aft arm, it can grow it back! amazing animals like the octopus is important because we can learn a lot from them. But they also show us how wonderful nature is and why it is important to protect it!

First, instead of taking a bus or car, walk more often. If your home is too far, ride a bike.

Second, spending time in nature is easy and fun way to spend Earth Day! You can enjoy the great outdoor activities like having a beach day with your friends.

Third, pick up rubbish in the parks. Taking a moment to pick up any rubbish you see as you're out is (real) useful.

Fourth, you can sell used things. Some old things of yours can still be (help) to other people. And if you have old clothes, old books, or other old things, why not give  (they) to other people?

Last, plant a tree. Planting a tree only needs a few (minute), but it can be good for the environment (环境) for many years. Trees are important they help fight pollution. Besides, they provide wildlife (野生动植物) homes. See if there is a tree — planting activity and join in. Find the (good) planting place to meet (满足) the trees' needs, dig a hole to water the tree well to give it a good start.

Earth Day can be every day! Just do one small thing every day (support) the environment. It doesn't have to be something unusual. Small changes of yours will make a difference.
