I grew up in Ecuador, in a small, warm town where everyone knew me. I had   life that was safe and perfect. But when I was 14, my mom told me we were moving to the US.

I was worried about the new language, the new school and the difficulties I had to  (face). For three years, I cried, I argued. I fought  it and I refused to prepare.

The day we left was  (bad) day of my life. Saying goodbye to my father felt like my heart  (throw) into the deep sea. I thought I would never be happy again.

Last week, a friend from the animal shelter(庇护所) where I used to work in New Mexico posted a message about Luna, a dog in Arizona. This dog was from an American family and they did not have money to help this dog get her leg treated. My friend did not know where to ask for help so she put it up on Facebook and I shared it. A little later I saw an aged man had given away 20 dollars. 

I don't have much money these days but this dog made me think of another dog I found under a truck many years ago. That dog was left there with a broken leg too. The vet cut off the leg, and I took her back to the shelter. She was soon adopted(领养) by a warm-hearted woman who heard her story.
