I am Leo Harrison. I love animals and always want a pet. But I can't have pets because two of my family members are allergic（过敏性的）to animal hair. Now, my job helps me with that—I'm a pet taxi driver（司机）！

One day, I am at a friend's home. We are talking when his pet dog hurts（受伤）its leg. My friend tries to get a taxi to take the dog to the animal hospital. He makes three calls. But no driver wants a dog in the taxi. At last, my friend gets a car from a neighbour and takes his dog to the hospital. 

That gives me the idea to start driving for animals. I begin a"Taxi Pet" service（服务）. That means dogs, cats, birds and other pets can all take my taxi. 

I make three to four trips a day. Pet owners（主人）usually ask me to take them and their pets to the animal hospitals. I also take them to pet stores, shopping centres, beaches and many other places. Every time when I drive the pets back to their home, I know the animals are healthy and happy. And this is the best part of my job. 

Now, I make most of my money from"Taxi Pet". Every day I make new friends. And they are all loving and friendly. I'm more than happy to help these animal friends!

①One of the fun ways to celebrate Easter（复活节）is drawing pictures on eggs, but things look a little different this year in the US. Egg prices now are higher than before. This makes eggs hard to buy. 

②How much is an egg? It is usually no more than ¥1. But this year in the US, an egg can be more than ¥0. 75(about ¥5.5). Still, these expensive eggs are hard to get. Many supermarkets only let people buy a box of 12 eggs. Supermarkets often sell（卖）all their eggs in an hour.

⑤The US is trying to work out the problem. Here are some ways American people are trying to help. For example, some people are keeping chickens in their own backyards. Others are renting（租）chickens to get fresh eggs. The US is also buying eggs from other countries. Things are still hard, but these ways are helping to bring down the price and bring more eggs to people. 

Today, the robot club is taking part in the National Robot Competition(比赛) at the Children's Science Centre.

The flood in Henan in 2021 made people across the country nervous.  (luck), the rescue forces (救援部队)went to Henan right away. This rescue shows the ( powerful) of China's science and technology. 

For the people in Henan, communication is more important than anything else. When a person is in danger, text messages are not just messages,  the hope of life. 

Communications were cut for more than 12 hours because heavy rain and flood came suddenly. When the people (lose) touch with the outside world, you can imagine  fear in their hearts. "Who can come to our rescue? When can we be out of danger?" Their fear went away when the Wing Loong-2H UAV appeared with (it) great power. They could receive text messages right now. This is certainly great encouragement to them. 

The Wing Loong-2H UAV took off from Anshun, Guizhou Province, and flew to Mihe, Gongyi in Henan Province. There are about 1,300 kilometers between the two places. After (fly) for 4.5 hours, at 6:21 p. m. on Wednesday, it  (successful) arrived in Mihe, one of the most seriously flooded areas in Henan Province, and started ( provide) stable (稳定的) and continuous mobile signals, covering an area of about 50 square kilometers. 

In this rescue,  the Wing Loong-2H UAV appeared for the first time, it made a big difference. It has been used in many different situations since then. 

Luke lived with his grandma during the last summer holidays. He was (好奇的) about everything in her grandma's house. One night he stole into the store room where his grandma kept her (有价值的) collections. He knew she did not like anyone to touch her treasures, especially her cup for skating. Luke walked around on tiptoe and felt the treasures one after another with excitement. He found the cup wasn't there. "Where is it?" he thought to himself. He raised his head and found it!Though it was on the top of a shelf, he wanted to feel the cup again. 

With the help of a ladder, Luke reached the cup. It was much  (重)than it seemed. Luke lifted the cup and tried to get it down. While climbing down, Luke's elbow struck against the ladder. He lost his balance and fell down to the (地面) heavily. The glass cup slipped out of his hands and broke into two halves. 

Luke was too nervous to feel the (疼). He stood up quickly and felt heartbroken. He picked up the broken pieces with his shaking hands, put them back to the shelf and left the store room quickly. Grandma was watching TV in the living room. Luke went into his bedroom quietly so that his grandma wouldn't notice him. 

That night was so cold. He tossed and turned in bed. He couldn't fall asleep till midnight. He woke up and looked at the clock many times. Time seemed to go much slower. Early in the morning, Luke knocked on grandma's door with (勇气), Grandma hugged Luke thoughtfully and said, "That cup was presented to me when I was only ten years old. I won the first prize in my skating competition. "      

Luke followed grandma to the store room. "I'm really sorry, grandma. " Luke said (伤心地). With a smile, grandma took down the broken glass cup and used glue to (粘) the broken pieces together. The cup was repaired miraculously!

She continued, "When I was young, I once messed my uncle's (无价的) painting. I was not as brave as you. I didn't tell the (真相) at first. It made me feel upset day and night. After a week's struggle, I admitted my fault to my uncle. That was the most unforgettable moment. I think it is honesty that matters more than mistakes. "

The ground shook suddenly. Houses moved, and people ran into the streets with scare. With people running around, Zhang Heng stood still, thinking quickly. "There must be a way to know when this will happen," he thought. He had seen many earthquakes in his life, and each time, people couldn't do anything. But this time, Zhang Heng decided to find a method.

On a calm morning, the dragon head pointing west released its ball while Luoyang felt no tremor. Court officials doubted the warning, but several days later, a messenger arrived reporting that Longxi, far to the west, had indeed been struck by a severe earthquake. 

Though his name became famous, Zhang Heng never stopped searching for answers. He knew that science was a never-ending journey, and he was always ready for the next challenge. 

When we talk about communication, we often think of talking with others. But do you know that we also talk with ourselves from time to time? For example, your mum asks you what you would like for breakfast. Many foods come to your mind: sandwiches, bread, milk… You think that it would be great to have sandwiches. You are talking with yourself until you tell your mum what you want to eat. 

We call this kind of communication "intrapersonal (内心的) communication". This can be talking to ourselves, reading, writing, thinking, understanding and remembering something. 

Intrapersonal communication plays a big part in our lives. Good intrapersonal communication allows you to understand yourself better. When you're comfortable with who you are, and you know what you want, you can better get on with yourself. Also, intrapersonal communication helps you keep an eye on your thoughts and feelings. When you find that your mind is full of bad thoughts and sad feelings, you will try to cheer up and get rid of them. 

What's more, intrapersonal communication helps you to talk with others. Understanding your thoughts and feelings better lets you put yourself in others' shoes when you talk to or listen to them. Then, you can better understand and get on with them. 

① In recent years, smartwatches have become very popular. Many people wear them every day, not only to check the time but also to help with health, work, and communication. A smartwatch is like a small computer on your wrist (腕). It can do many things that a normal watch cannot. 

② One of the main reasons people like smartwatches is that they can monitor their health. For example, a smartwatch can count how many steps you take each day, measure your heart rate (率), and remind you to stand up if you sit for too long. Some smartwatches can even check your sleep habits and tell you how well you sleep at night. This can help people make better choices about their health and fitness. 

③ Smartwatches are also useful for communication. Many of them can connect to your phone, so you can read messages, answer calls, and receive messages without taking your phone out of your bag. This is very convenient when you are busy or when your hands are full.
