My School Life

My name is Li Hua. I am from Class 1, Grade

I'm Anna, a student in Grade Seven. The woman in the photo is my mother.

My mother is a maths teacher. All her  (student) like her. They say she can always make maths easy and (interesting). In her free (空闲的) time, she loves shopping. She likes Thursday. Why? Because all clothes her favourite shop are on sale（降价）that day.

Today is the (one) of January and it is her birthday. I want to(buy) her a sweater. In the morning, I go to Xinglong Shop. I find a nice yellow sweater,  it is small for my mother. "Do you have  big one?" I ask. "Yes. How about this white one? It sells well and it's only 50 dollars now," the  saleswoman(售货员)  (say). "OK. I'll take it,"  I say.

After I get home, my mother sees the sweater in (I ) bag. "This sweater is nice. Is it yours?" she says. "No, Mum. This sweater is for you. Happy birthday!" I say. "Thank you, my dear girl. I (real) love this gift!" my mother says .

Today is Saturday. I'm thinking about my junior high school days. I  (记得)when I started junior high, I was very (神经紧张的).But with my classmates around, I soon got ready for the new life.

We have many interesting activities.Also we have got a lot of knowledge from our (课本).We study subjects like maths,English,Chinese and history. (每个人)has their own dreams and goals.

Many families have a pet. Most pets will feel  when their owners (主人) go to school or work. But some pet cats in South Korea are much luckier. They can go to kindergarten.

 My friend Tina is busy with work during the daytime. Before she  home in the morning, she will say to her pet cat, "Play with ! Have a good day!", Without a friend, her pet will only sleep. So she sends the pet to the kindergarten. There are 30 cats every day. They can play with each other and make friends. There are also  at the kindergarten. There, the cats fight and climb. They look very cute!

Many children enjoy listening to music. Donovan Leo from the US is one of them, 1 he does more than that.

Teachers' Day is different in different countries.  On this day, Chinese students give cards and flowers to teachers. They usually decorate (装饰) the cards with beautiful colors and pictures.

 In the US, Teachers' Day is the first week in May. During this week, the school will have parties and give gifts and snacks (小吃) to the teachers. That's because the apple means (意味着) health.

In India, Teachers' Day is on September 5. Students and teachers change(改变) roles (角色) for a day.

Chinese people don't just love cooking delicious vegetable dishes. They also love planting vegetables. Chinese people grew vegetables in their gardens centuries ago. Now, they also grow vegetables in the Antarctic, and even in space(太空)! Here is why.

With so much land, China is good for growing vegetables. Many places have the light, soil (土壤) and water that vegetables need.

Most of today's vegetables were once wild (野生的) plants. Chinese people started to eat and plant them quite early. The Book of Songs(《诗经》), written 2,500 years ago, said something about vegetables. Chinese people were also open to vegetables from other countries. Potatoes, peppers and tomatoes were all from other places. But Chinese people planted them, making them popular vegetables in China.

In the old times, poet Tao Yuanming lived in the countryside and did farm work. This surely included planting vegetables. He loved this peaceful life. Now planting vegetables is a good way to get away from the busy city life.

Alan is a middle school student. He doesn't go to school on Sunday morning. He is going to play with his friends in the morning. He is looking outside from his bedroom.

It is raining hard and the wind is blowing outside. He really wants the rain and wind to stop right now so that he can go out to meet his friends.

Alan learns from his father that when we meet bad things, just enjoy them. And everything will be OK.

Jenny is from New York. Her uncle works as a teacher in Qingdao, China. Last summer, Jenny went to China to visit her uncle and spent a week in Qingdao. Tina, her uncle's daughter, took her to many interesting places.

They went to May Fourth Square(五四广场). They went shopping in the shopping mall there. Jenny bought some clothes, books, CDs and some gifts for her friends. Then they climbed Laoshan Mountain. Jenny liked the beautiful flowers and enjoyed the warm weather there very much. She was tired but happy. They also went to the night market on the last day. There Jenny ate lots of nice food. It was really delicious and Jenny liked it very much.

Do you know Wei Dongyi? Wei has  great talent for maths and he is teaching at Peking University now. People often  (suppose) that he can solve problems faster than a calculator.

Born in 1991 in Shandong, he grew up in a family where his father, a university maths teacher, always valued mathematical thinking.  he was a kid, he already loved exploring maths problems. Since he entered middle school, he  (spend) much time on maths and has solved tons of problems. He stuck  studying with high-school students even in Grade 8.
