When Qi Hongbo, a respected member of a rescue (救援) team and a volunteer for public welfare (公益事业), died at the age of 47 on May 31, 2024, his family made an important decision to donate his body in order to help more people. 

Qi, who worked as a truck driver in Zibo, Shandong, also served as a deputy (副职) leader of a rescue team in Zibo. Throughout his life, he had been doing things for the public. 

In the eyes of his wife Chang Li, Qi always eagerly volunteered whenever there was a call for help. He spent almost all of his free time on voluntary service. 

In August 2021, when a sudden flood hit Henan Province, Qi, together with his team members, rushed to Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan Province, to help with rescuing people. Then again in December 2023 when a powerful earthquake hit Jishishan County in Gansu Province, he and his team took action to deal with the disaster at once. 

According to Liu Dong, the leader of the rescue team, Qi kept his mobile phone on for 24 hours so that he could respond quickly whenever needed. 

However, no one thought that Qi would lose his life in the volunteer service he loved. On the afternoon of May 24, Qi fainted (昏厥) while volunteering in Zibo. When he fell, he hit his head on a stone bench, leading to his death. 

In the terrible sadness, his wife and son made a difficult but great decision to donate Qi's liver, kidneys, corneas, and other organs (器官). 

① In life, many people are always ready to help others and they ask for nothing in return. We call those people volunteers. But why do they do that? Read on. 

②Volunteering is good for your resume. Your experience of being a volunteer gives the interviewer (面试官) a clearer picture of who you are. According to a survey, 1 out of 5 interviewers in the US agreed that volunteer experience was an important reason for giving someone a job. 

③____By volunteering, you encourage others to make good changes. Serving food at a food bank and working with teenagers in an after-school activity are also great examples to make others love volunteering.

●giving your old toys or clothes to a charity that helps sick children or poor people.

Hello, everyone! I'm Li Hua and I'm glad to share my English learning story with you.

Huang Xuhua, a great Chinese scientist, passed away on February 6th, 2025. But his amazing actions and strong spirit will always stay in our hearts and keep guiding China's future. 

Huang was born in Guangdong Province in 1926. When he was young, he saw that our country was in a very hard situation. He wanted to use his knowledge (知识) to make our country stronger, so he studied really hard. 

In the 1950s, China started the difficult job of building nuclear submarines (核潜艇). Huang Xuhua joined without thinking twice. During that difficult time, the job seemed impossible to finish. But he and his team never gave up. While they were working, they met many problems. For example, building a nuclear reactor (反应堆) was very hard. Without help from other countries, they had to do research by themselves. Using simple tools like calculators (计算器) and rulers, they worked hard to calculate and test. To keep the job secret (秘密), they cut off communication with the outside world, even their families. 

Finally, in the 1970s, China's first nuclear submarine was built and tested successfully. China became one of the countries that could make nuclear submarines. Huang Xuhua didn't stop there and he kept helping to improve the submarine. His hard work brought him many prizes, including the "Medal of the Republic" in 2019. 

Now, as we remember him, we find his life story is encouraging. We, especially the younger people, should follow his example, face difficulties bravely, and work hard to make China stronger. 

As a Canadian, I became interested in Chinese when I was young. But learning a(n)  language is not always easy. At the age of 12, I joined a Chinese writing competition. Though I tried really hard, I failed. I  that learning Chinese was a huge challenge and lost confidence in myself. 

One day, a book called Journey to the West caught  eye. In the book, the Monkey King needs to  a fan to cross the Mountain of Flames. Although he fails the first two times, he doesn't give  and finally makes it. 

The story of the Monkey King encouraged me a lot, and I kept  hard on Chinese. Still, I met some problems along the way, but I tried my best. After many great , I won third place in a Chinese writing competition last week. I wasn't the  one in the competition, but I learned to face challenges bravely. 

The learning journey can cause pain,  it also fills my life with happiness. I will go on with my journey and look forward to making more . I am excited to discover more about the truth of Chinese culture along the way. 

Learning is a wonderful journey that can make us grow up day by day. It helps us understand the world  (well) and open our eyes to new things. We should not see learning as a burden, but as  great chance to improve ourselves. 

Most people,  the lazy ones, know that learning is not only about reading textbooks. It's about building different  (ability) to solve problems and face challenges in life. The real meaning of learning is not in getting high grades,  in learning how to learn.

I'm glad you wrote about your English study problems! You said you're bad at English. I understand—last year, I was just like you. I hated English class because I couldn't follow the teacher and was afraid to answer questions. But now I usually get 90 points. 

First, I made a simple study plan. I don't study for hours. Instead, I write small goals every Sunday night, like "remember 10 words daily, " "listen to a short English story for 15 minutes before bed, " or "write one sentence about my day. " Small, regular steps are better than cramming and forgetting. 

  My teacher said, "Practice makes perfect. " So I stopped only reading textbooks. Now I watch short cartoons like Peppa Pig—its words are easy and the stories are funny. I also sing English songs with my sister, learning one every two weeks, like "You Are My Sunshine. " It's more fun than memorizing grammar! When I don't know a word, I write it in a notebook and look it up later. My teacher says I'm more careful and confident now—

Third, I ask for help. If I don't understand grammar, I ask my teacher after class. She explains patiently. Sometimes I practice speaking with my Canadian pen pal Mia. She helps my pronunciation, 

The most important thing: don't give up! Learning one new word a day is progress (进步). Try my ideas and tell me how it goes. I believe you can get better too!

How can you become a more efficient learner? Many students ask this question. The secret is not just to study longer, but to study smarter. Here are some research-based strategies that can help you improve your learning outcomes significantly. 

Firstly, spaced repetition is a powerful technique. Instead of cramming all your study into one long session, spread it out over several shorter sessions. Review the material after one day, then after three days, and again after a week. This helps move information from your short-term memory to your long-term memory. 

Secondly, practice retrieval. This means actively trying to recall information without looking at your notes. You can use flashcards or simply close your book and try to summarize what you have learned. Testing yourself in this way is far more effective than passively re-reading textbooks.

Do you often feel stressed when exams are coming? You are not alone. Many students experience this. However, too much pressure can harm your health and lower your performance. Here are some healthy ways to manage study pressure. 

First, make a realistic study plan. Break your big goal, like "study for the final exam, " into smaller tasks, such as "review Chapter 1 today. " This makes the work seem less overwhelming. Use a planner or a calendar app to keep track of your progress. When you finish a task, tick it off. This gives you a sense of achievement. 

Second, find time to relax. Your brain cannot work non-stop. Take short breaks every 40-50 minutes of study. During the break, you can do some light stretching, listen to music, or look out of the window. Also, make sure you get enough sleep, especially before the exam day. A tired mind cannot think clearly. 

Third, talk about your feelings. Don't keep your worries to yourself. Share them with your parents, teachers, or good friends. Sometimes, just talking about it can make you feel much better. They may also offer useful advice or just listen to you, which is very supportive. 

Finally, remember that exams are important, but they are not the only measure of your ability or your future. Do your best in preparation, but try to keep a positive attitude. Tell yourself, "I have prepared well, and I will try my best. "

I'm writing to say thank you to you. You are my English teacher in Grade Seven, and you changed my life about English learning.
