The Morin Khuur(马头琴) is a very traditional Chinese instrument. It comes from Mongolia and has a sound. It is soft and smooth, but also deep and strong. It can sound like a horse running or crying. There is a horse-head on its  , and that's why it's named the Morin Khuur.

Artisans(工匠) in Jilin, China, are famous for making the  Morin Khuur in China. And their skills of making the Morin Khuur have been naturally passed down.

Edward Messelt, a foreigner, came here years ago. He is studying  than most people on how to make the Morin Khuur from Master Bai Su Gulang. There are  than thirty steps in making it.They include choosing the wood, making the horse-head, and then fixing, tuning(调音), painting. Edward said, "If you want to learn something fast, making the Morin Khuur may not a good choice. It needs time and."

Edward thought making a Morin Khuur is like a job. Just like cooking, there is always a way to do it. However, the result is not always  , but he won't lose heart.

After learning a whole year, Edward has mastered some skills. He hopes to take this tradition back to his country. He  believes the Morin Khuur has a bright future. "It isn't only nice to listen to, but also can give people different  ." he said.

Grant's last birthday party was like no other. While most kids ask for 1 or parties with their friends,Grant asked for something special.
