It might be fun to use your smartphone, but be careful. Too much screen time may be harmful(有害的) to your health.

First, it is bad for your eyes. A researcher called Sarah Hinkley says the problem comes from the blue light that the screen gives out. Looking at a smartphone for a long time can cause eye strain(眼疲劳),headaches and dry eyes. So it is a good idea to take a break every 15 minutes when you are working at a computer or using a smartphone.

Second, screen use can do harm to children's brains. A new study shows that using screens too much can affect(影响) how children's brains grow. If children use screens for more than one hour a day, they might have lower levels of white matter(白质) in their brains. White matter is a key to the development of language and reading skills. So it is wise to cut down the time of children using all kinds of screens.

Third, using screens too much will affect your sleep. According to a study, about 95% of the people between the ages of 13 and 64 use electronics before bed, especially the young people under 20. Doctors say that the light from those electronics at night may make you excited before you go to bed. Then it's hard for you to get enough sleep. So you'd better turn off smartphones, TVs, and all other screens an hour before your bedtime.

To keep healthy, doctors and researchers strongly advise that you shouldn't use screens for long hours.

As we all know, Disneyland is one of the most popular theme parks in the world. For many children and adults,1 a Disney theme park would be a dream. However, it seems kind of difficult because you need enough time. What's more, you have to pay much 2 the journey. But can you imagine travelling to all the Disney theme parks in just over three 3 ?

Several months ago, Lindsay Nemeth, a Canadian woman,4 just 75 hours and 6 minutes visiting the magical attractions, making her the 5 woman to visit all Disney theme parks in such a short time. Lindsay dreamed of visiting all the Disney theme parks around the world. She started her journey in the US. After that,she got to France, Shanghai and Hong Kong and 6 ended her amazing journey in Tokyo.

To 7 time, she often chose to sleep on her plane rides. She tried her best to make sure she wouldn't miss any of her flights. She was always in a hurry because the Guinness World Records(吉尼斯世界纪录) said that she must go on 8 one ride and get statements from two witnesses(目击者) in each theme park to show that she has 9 finished the ride.

Although the 10 was very difficult, Lindsay gave herself a goal of less than 80 hours. And she achieved it in less time.

My Family's Journey Out of Poverty

My family had a long-running cycle of growing up poor. Both my mum and dad came from large families with little more than the clothes on their backs. Their parents had also grown up with very little.

When I was five, I1 an interest in machinery(机器). I tried taking apart an old computer in my kindergarten classroom. By third grade, I began learning BASIC programming. One day in high school, my computer teacher suggested I attend a computer camp and handed me a 2 . I rushed home excitedly, but my mum couldn't afford the cost of the camp—several hundred dollars. Heartbroken, I cried myself to sleep.

Weeks later, the camp director called, telling me I'd be attending the camp. I could hardly believe my ears. At that camp, I met many like-minded kids and learned how to build websites. It 3 a fire in me.Two years later, the director showed me a handwritten letter from my mum. She wrote that I was the 4 child she knew, described my early talent, and begged the camp to accept me for free. I burst into tears immediately.

Water is important for all living things on earth. The water cycle(循环) is a natural process that takes water from the ground and the sky and brings it back to the earth again. It is a cycle that happens the whole year and is most active from June to August in China. In this article, we will learn about the water cycle and discuss its importance for the earth.

The water cycle always begins with evaporation(蒸气). As water vapour(水蒸气) rises into the sky, it cools down and the clouds are formed. After that, clouds travel through the sky and fall back to earth as rain or snow. Then, water runs through rivers and oceans and finally returns to the atmosphere through evaporation.

The water cycle plays an important role in regulating(调节) our earth's climate. It provides us with water to drink and keeps our climate stable. On top of that, it takes water from rivers and oceans and brings it to the areas that don't have enough water. Without the cycle, we would face many problems. When there is too much water in one place, it becomes a flood. When water is in short supply, it becomes a drought. Besides, water vapour can absorb heat from the sun and keep our earth cool.

The water cycle is a natural process that keeps our earth alive. It's important for plants and animals to drink water and for our rivers to stay running with water. Understanding the water cycle can help us enjoy the beauty of nature, know how our earth works and find better ways to protect our earth. And that is our duty.

Bill is a middle school student. He has many subjects every day. Of all the subjects, he doesn't like maths, so he doesn't want to do maths homework.

Many people like to travel(旅行) by plane because it is fast, but I don't like it because an airport(机场)is usually far from the city. You have to get there early and wait for hours for the plane to take off and it is often late. You can't open the windows. You can't choose the food. And they still take hours to get out of the airport and into the city. 

I like travelling by train. I think trains are safe. Stations are usually in cities. When you are late for a train, you can catch another one. You can walk around on the train and open the windows. You can see many interesting things on your way. I know it takes a little more time.

I also like cars. You can start your journey when you want to, and you don't need to get to a railway station or a bus stop. Also, you can carry many things with you in a car. But sometimes there are too many cars on the road.
