Giraffes are amazing animals. They are the tallest land animals on earth. An adult giraffe can grow up to 5.5 meters tall. Their long necks and legs help them reach leaves high on trees. Giraffes live in Africa ' s savannas and open woodlands. They eat leaves from acacia trees. A giraffe can eat 34 kilograms of leaves daily. Their tongues are dark blue and up to 50 centimeters long. This helps them pull leaves from thorny trees safely.

Each giraffe has unique brown patches （斑点） on its coat. These patterns are like human fingerprints. Scientists think the patterns help giraffes hide from lions and other predators.

Giraffes live in groups called " towers ". Female giraffes and their babies stay together. Male giraffes sometimes fight by hitting each other with their necks. This is called " necking "

Sadly , giraffes are in danger. Their numbers dropped by 40% in 30 years. People cut down trees and hunt them. Protecting giraffes is important.

First, I  the words and sentences people used while talking and tried to use them in my conversations. Second, I could know my problems by listening to my recordings. Third, I practiced with my by sending voice messages. This way, they wouldn't know  I was nervous, because they couldn't see me.

My husband and I were taking care of Lizzy, our daughter Debra's pet dog, on April 17 while Debra was in hospital. We received a message from our son-in-law, Joe, that Debra was about to give birth. Tom and I sprang from our chairs suddenly. It's a tradition in our family to wait at the hospital of a birth. This would be Debra and Joe's first child. 

"You take Lizzy out before we leave, and I'll be waiting for you in the car!" I told Tom. I started the car and waited impatiently. I saw my husband walk out of the front door but at that moment Lizzy shot out and ran down the street at a great speed. 

My husband ran after the dog and I followed in my car. "Lizzy! Lizzy!" We shouted as fear filled my heart, we ran after her down our Bellwood Street, "She's running on Wireless Road!" We both cried with fear. Lizzy ran up and down in the busy street. My husband kept running after her, out of breath, I shouted to my husband, "Tom, be careful when you cross the street!"

Within minutes, traffic was actually stopped on Wireless Road. Several good people got out of their cars to help us to get the dog back. Soon, she ran into a safer area and back to our street, With the help of six strangers, we caught her within a few minutes, everyone cheered, and we thanked the helpers again and again. 

With Lizzy safely back inside, we drove straight to the hospital at once and were able to see our daughter in the delivery room (产房). My husband and I were forever thankful to the strangers who might have saved Lizzy's life and who enabled us to be there at the beginning of a precious new one.

④Finally, here's a hobby for those who want to have fun and make a little money. It's called "upcycling". You've heard of recycling—you put things like glass, paper and plastic in special boxes so the materials can be used again. Upcyclers take old things and make them into new things. Sometimes they can even sell the things they make. For example, you can take an old book bag, clean it up and decorate it. It will look like a cool new bag. There's even a magazine called Upcycle that is full of ideas. All you need for this is an old thing and a good imagination. 

⑤So look around for a new and interesting hobby. Then when someone asks you the question "What's your hobby?", you can give them an answer that they've never heard before. 

Lhalung Dorje works for China Post in Ruo'ergai town, Sichuan Province. For many years, he has sent packages (包裹）and talked with local people. Through this work, he learned much about local products like dried meat, milk, vegetables, and fruits. In March 2021, he started his first livestreaming (直 播) sales event. He has held about 10 live events, getting nearly 4 million yuan. 

However, his most important job is still sending mails. Ruo'ergai is in mountainous area of western China where Tibetan and Qiang people live. The area has high mountains and difficult roads, so travel is dangerous here. Lhalung Dorje travels over 100 kilometers every week in these hard conditions. So far, he has traveled more than 500,000 kilometers and safely sent over 5 million packages. 

Lhalung Dorje's father was also a postman. "My father was my hero. He wore his uniform, carried his bag, and walked through the mountains," he said. As a child, he loved sitting on his father's bike, feeling warm even in winter. 

In 2007, Lhalung Dorje followed his father's example and became a postman. Over the years, he has faced many challenges, such as snowstorms, heavy rain, and falling rocks. Once, rocks fell on the road during a trip, but he still finished his work. These difficulties never stopped him. After short breaks, he always returned to his job. 

Lhalung Dorje's story teaches us about hard work and love for one's community. He not only sends packages but also helps local people sell their products. His life shows that even common jobs can make a big difference.

The best time to visit Beijing is in September or October, because it's cool in these months. There are many old and great places to visit, such as the Great Wall, the Summer Palace and the Palace Museum.
