2、One spring day, there was a beautiful rose in a forest. She greeted her neighbors, including a cactus (仙人掌), an apple tree and other plants. Then, she said to the cactus, "I'm the most beautiful flower here, but you are full of thorns and so ugly!"
Day after day, the rose never stopped being unkind to the cactus. The cactus, however, never got sad or angry. Instead, he always calmly said, "All lives have meaning."
As summer came, it was hot and dry. The rose began to weaken, but the cactus grew well. He had a wide root system and was good at storing water in his body.
