D. Only in this way can we ensure the survival of endangered animals.
E. As a result, thousands of species have become endangered or died out.
F. They also try to call on the government to take action to protect animals.
Animals are an important part of nature, yet throughout history, humans have caused great harm to them. Many animals have been killed for their fur, feathers, or meat.
Firstly, the destruction of living space is a major reason. With the development of cities and industries, the living areas of wild animals are being destroyed. Secondly, illegal hunting also brings a serious problem. For example, many endangered animals are hunted for their valuable body parts.
Endangered animals play an important role in keeping ecological balance (生态平衡). Each species (物种)has its own place in nature, and the dying-out of any species can lead to a series of ecological problems. They may provide important information for the development in science and medicine.
Fortunately, many people and organizations are working hard to protect endangered animals.
Some groups raise money to build homes for animals. Many countries have already passed laws to stop the killing and trading of endangered species.
However, protecting endangered animals is still a long-term task. As students, we should raise our awareness of animal protection and join in voluntary activities. We should also avoid buying products made of endangered animals and support sustainable(可持续的)development

New artificial intelligence (AI) tool can be used to forecast our future health conditions. according to the scientists in London. Scientists from a number of different universities and hospitals have been trying out a tool called Foresight.

When the aliens arrived to discuss when the game should be played, one of the grandchildren came up with a great idea.
"The game will take place in 1960. "
"In 1960? But that was more than 50 years ago!" replied the aliens.
"You' re going to fight a war against the Earth and you don't even have time machines?"
"Of course we do! Tomorrow we will travel back in time and the game will be played. It will be shown on television for all to see. "
The strong and powerful aliens entered the time machine, followed by a group of weak old men. But, as the years rolled back, the aliens became small and weak, turning into children once more. Buck had never experienced such freezing cold before. When he first arrived in Alaska, the icy wind made him shake all over. Back in sunny California, the coldest days were just rainy, but here, everything was covered in thick, hard snow that never seemed to melt.
The first night was especially difficult. Buck watched curiously as the other sled dogs (雪橇犬) skillfully dug holes in the snow to make warm beds. He tried to copy them but his hole kept falling apart. Feeling frozen, he stood outside shaking until Francois, one of the sled drivers, noticed his problem. "Here, let me show you, " Francois said kindly, showing how to properly shape the snow into a comfortable shelter. After several tries, Buck finally made his first successful snow nest and slept comfortably through the night.
Mealtime brought another challenge. When the men threw frozen fish to the dogs, Buck ate slowly and politely as he always had at his former home. But before he could finish, a bigger dog named Spitz pushed him away and stole his food. That night, Buck went to bed hungry, learning an important lesson. The next day, he started eating quickly and shouting angrily at any dog that came near.
As weeks passed, Buck's body got used to the terrible environment, His once-soft paws grew hard and no longer hurt on the ice. His muscles became stronger from pulling the heavy sled daily, More importantly, his mind changed - he learned to read the other dogs' behaviors and the men's orders. Pingshu, a traditional Chinese storytelling art, has a history dating back to the Qing Dynasty. Performers usually tell stories in teahouses or small theaters, attracting audiences with their vivid voices and gestures.
To master Pingshu, artists need years of training. Most learn by studying under experienced performers. As one famous artist, Yuan Kuocheng, said, Pingshu is "both mental and physical work. Performers must memorize long stories and add their own explanations to make the tales more attractive. They also need to understand the deeper meanings of the stories and share their thoughts with the audience.
During performances, artists stand behind a table, They use tools like a folding fan and a wooden block called Xingmu(醒木). The fan helps act out scenes, such as "'drawing a sword(剑). " The Xingmu is kocked on the table to mark the start of the story or to highlight exciting moments.
Modem technology has brought both challenges and opportunities to Pingshu. While young people today prefer online entertainment, technology allows artists to record their performances. These recordings can be shared widely, helping more people discover Pingshu. Digital methods also protect this art for future generations.

Imagine feeling upset but having no one to talk to. Who would you turn to? Today, many people treat AI chatbots like ChatGPT as friends.
I understood why. Unlike humans, chatbots are available 24 hours. They listen patiently and say comforting words. However, this creates a problem.
Philosopher Martin Heidgger believed technology makes us see things only as tools. For example, using a simple tool to search for rocks might make us view a hill as just a "'supply place" instead of noticing its natural beauty. Similarly, AI friends offer a limited view of friendship-focusing only on personal needs like reducing loneliness or entertainment. If we rely on them, we may never discover the true value of human friendship.
Real friendships involve accepting imperfections(缺点). ____△____. Human friends might disappoint you, but they choose to stay even when they see your weaknesses. This shows you are valued beyond just being useful. Such relationships add deep meaning to life, which AI cannot provide. Sadly, not everyone experiences this. As Al friends become common, future generations might lose the chance to build real friendships. Out most important task is to protect human connections. We must teach the next generation-and remind ourselves-that true friendship helps us grow and achieve more together.
Let's celebrate real friendships. They are imperfect, but irreplaceable.
(1)、Why do many people treat AI chatbots as friends?A、They solve math problems quickly. B、They look exactly like humans. C、They never ask for anything back. D、They give quick help and kind words.(2)、What might happen if future generations rely too much on AI fiends?A、They will focus less on creativity. B、They may fail to build deep relationships C、They will improve their social skills. D、They will care less about nature.(3)、Which sentence can be put in the blank____A、They require us to help each other become better people B、Unlike AI, humans can give practical advice for problems. C、This is why true friendships mean being imperfect but still loved D、That is why technology can never replace real relationships.(4)、What does the underlined word "irreplaceable" in Paragraph 6 probably mean ?A、Easy to replace. B、Not important. C、Cannot be replaced. D、Very costly.(5)、ln which part of a newspaper can we probably find the passage?A、Technology Today B、Health Tips C、Environmental Protection D、Sports News -

A. Do something valuable.
B. Make you happy first.
C. Some lucky people get it right first time.
D. So make sure that you are the one who decides.
E. It could be a job that helps other people in the community.
F. If you are very active, don't choose an office job though the pay is good
Choosing your future career isn't always easy. For teenagers in middle schools, it is important to have a general idea of what my future job is. Here are some tips to help you make the decision.
Don't let other people decide what you should do.
Sometimes adults may want you to become a doctor, or work in bank, or be a teacher. Listen to them, but remember it's your life and it's your decision.
Consider what you are good at.
It's true that things like money are important, but don't let them lead you down the wrong path. Follow your heart and your characters. If you don't like work which needs lots of attention, think long and hard before you decide to do something like applying to study engineering at university.
They start a job, love it at once and stick at it. But it isn't always like that. So remember you are allowed to change your mind. It's not necessary to worry for years. Your first decision isn't forever. Maybe the right job for you is right around the corner!
Some people choose their career simply because they think they'll make huge lots of money. OK, if that is what you want. However, in general people are pleased with their career when they feel they are doing something valuable for others. It doesn't have to be voluntary work. Just don't forget, money is not everything.

Looking at the undone homework on his desk always makes David Grey aged 15 feel uncomfortable. After 7 pm, David leaves his homework behind and surfs the Internet for more than 2 hours instead, waiting until the last minute. Do you have the same experience?
Everyone procrastinates (拖延) because they want to feel good now. The way to do that is to avoid the task. You can procrastinate on nearly anything, even enjoyable tasks such as planning a vacation. Research has shown that the top tasks young people procrastinate are studying and going to bed. "One big cause for procrastination( 拖 延 症 ) is that people are afraid of failure, of not meeting others ' expectations, " Professor Peter Stone says.
Professor Stone did a study in 2022, asking procrastinators to finish a task before bedtime at night. The results showed that they did worse than non-procrastinators: they made more mistakes and they took longer. However, they thought they did better. Even, the procrastination led to sleeplessness, which caused many other health problems for them.
For those who need some drives to stop procrastinating, the best advice might be to take action first. If you've been procrastinating on forming a habit of exercise, just put on your walking shoes. A little bit of progress will get you moving.
Next, find something to help you remember to take action. If you want to go to bed at 10:30 pm, you might turn the lights down at 10 pm. When the lights are dim(昏暗), you'll start going to bed. It works for most people.
Finally, reward yourself every time you make progress. For example, after you've run 3 km, enjoy your favourite ice-cream. But be careful: it won't work the other way around.

Have you ever imagined living on the sea? This idea could soon come true. The Maldives(马尔代夫)is building the world's first floating city and plans to complete it in 2027.
The city is like a man-made island. People will live on floating platforms ( 平 台 ). These platforms are connected and placed along a hexagonal grid (六角网格). Natural coral reefs (珊瑚礁) will be grown around the city to stop the floating city from moving around, so people who live here won't feel seasick.
People will live a self-sufficient life in the floating city. Electricity will be powered by solar energy. Sewage (污水) will be treated there. Also, the island is not far away from land. It takes only 10 minutes to travel by boat between there and the capital of the Maldives.
