Have you ever cut,copied and pasted (粘贴) something on a computer?What about opening a file(文件) by clicking on it?These  ideas and technologies were created by Larry Tesler,an American computer scientist.

Larry Tesler was born on 24th April,1945.He had a strong interest in computers in his early years. In high school,he started to show his talent for numbers.His teacher  noticed it and told Tesler that his skill could be used in computer science.Tesler then  became interested in computers and joined a programme where he could spend half  an hour of computer time each week.During that time,he taught himself programming   before he went to college!Eight years after graduating from Stanford University,Tesler  took a job at Xerox's Palo Alto Research Centre(PARC),where he developed  "cut""copy"and"paste".Before his creation, people would edit(编辑)text by physically cutting parts of printed text and gluing them elsewhere.

Tesler also got the idea that a user should be able to open a file by simply clicking on it.He hoped to make it easier for people to use computers.

Besides,Tesler realised the cheaper and better personal computer would be  popular in the market, so he decided to push for low-cost computers.It turned out to be such a wise decision.

Tesler developed many new and creative programs and made life easier for many  people. Sadly,the great scientist passed away on 17th February 2020 at the age of 74. However,he will always be remembered,for the great contributions (贡献)he made to society.

Used first as a grooming(梳理) tool,the comb(梳子)has many forms for all types of hair.The type of comb you need will be different depending on your hair,as well  as the purpose of the comb.Combing different hair requires a different comb.

The earliest use of the comb appeared as far back as 6,000 years ago.In fact,many different kinds of combs came out in history.As early as 5,500 BC the ancient Egyptians could make combs. In ancient China,people wore combs to show their social status (地位) .Over time,combs have now become more efficient tools for hair  care.Today, there are hundreds of different combs for people to choose and use.

Combs serve different functions for different hair types and styles.People use combs to deal with disordered (凌乱的)or wet hair.Another common use for the combs is to secure hair in one position. During the 1930s and 1940s,hair combs were  the best choice of keeping hair beautiful.

In its earliest time,people made combs from bones of animals.But later,people  began to make combs from wood or plastic.Now most people use this kind of comb.And high-end combs are from expensive steel or gold.

At present,combs have different shapes and types in different colours.People  can choose their favourite combs as they like.But when using combs,we should  know we'd better not use others' combs. And we should wash or brush our combs with clean water as often as possible to keep them clean.
