Many people have cars today. We can go anywhere by car. But everyone must follow the traffic(交通)rules. 

For walkers, they must stop if the lights(灯)are red. They should look on the left and right when they are going across the roads. 

 They mustn't talk or laugh when they are driving. The traffic police always ask them to stop driving when the lights are red. When people are driving, they should wear a seat belt. 

Many people take buses. So for passengers(乘客), they should wait in line, and follow the rules.  If the buses are too full, they should wait for the next one. 

I hope people can follow them and there will be fewer traffic accidents. 

Long time ago, there was a king. The king was very old. He wanted to choose a boy to be the next king. The next day the king gave a notice: All boys in the country needed to come to the palace. There they would get special flower seeds(种子) from the king. "If you can show the best flower to me in a year, you will be the next king, "the king said. 

Boys from all over the country went to the palace to get their flower seeds. A boy named Ping also went there. Ping was excited and confident. He was sure that he could grow the most beautiful flower. Ping was careful with the seed. He put it in a pot(花盆) and watered it every day. But there was nothing in his pot one year later. Spring came and all boys visited the king with beautiful flowers.   △  

But the king told everyone that he boiled(煮) all the seeds before giving them to boys. So these seeds wouldn't become flowers forever. The king was happy to see Ping's pot without flowers. He decided to make Ping the next king because of his honesty (诚实). Ping was really happy. 

①More and more people know the importance of keeping healthy. We can't study or work well without a healthy body. There are some ways to keep healthy. 

②It is important to eat healthy food, such as fresh fruit and vegetables. It can help to provide (提供) your body with the necessary nutrients (营养物) to stay healthy. We shouldn't eat junk food and sugary drinks. 

③Getting enough sleep is necessary (必要的). We should sleep for at least 8 hours every night and don't stay up late. 

④Taking enough exercise every day can help us build a strong body, such as running, swimming, playing ball games and walking to school or work. 

⑤It's important to keep a positive attitude (积极的心态). It can help us keep a good mood (心情). When we face difficulties, it can help us cut down worries, too. 

⑥I hope these ways can help you keep healthy.

From Tenez!to tennis

Tennis first appeared in England and France in the 16th century(世纪). It was called royal tennis and only kings and queens played it. It was 

 indoor sport and players started the game by saying "Tenez！"and that's how it got its name. 

Modern tennis appeared  the 1860s. It was first called" Lawn(草坪) Tennis" and players only played on grass. The 

tennis match was at Wimbledon, London in 1877. Now, players play on other kinds of courts, too. 

In the past, players didn't use plastic rackets. They wooden rackets and they were quite heavy. Men wore pants and shirts and women wore long dresses. The first person to wear shorts at Wimbledon was Bunny Austin in 1933. In the past, players also wore shoes,  players wear sneakers (胶底运动鞋) nowadays. 

Today, tennis is an Olympic sport. It is also part of the Paralympics (残奥会)and athletes play in wheel chairs(轮椅). 

Chinese scientists discovered water in Moon soil samples (样本). Chang'e-5 Moon probe (探测器) brought the samples back from the Moon. Many ago, people discovered water on the Moon, but this time scientists found that it is in the same form as the water we on the Earth. The samples came from a part of the Moon, where scientists did not believe they could find  there. 

The Chang'e-5 probe  to space in November 2020. The robotic spacecraft(航天器) worked on the Moon for about a month, and then it came back the Earth carrying about four pounds of the Moon soil. In 2018, scientists started to study the Moon. And they found that there water on the Moon in two other forms— as ice and as a chemical compound(化合物) that could be into water. 

And last year, China found water in glass balls on the Moon. The finding means that there is a water source(源头) on the Moon. China plans to send some  to the Moon and also build a research station there. 

Lugazo Abubakar is a 30-year-old Tanzanian (坦桑尼亚人). He is now 1 at Central China Normal University(CCNU) in Wuhan. He is also the head of a volunteer service team. The team is made up of 2 students. 

Lugazo's love for China began during his studies in Tanzania. HisChinese teacher 3 him at a Confucius Institute (孔子学院), andLugazo started his 4 of learning Chinese at CCNU in 2017. On his first day, Lugazo was touched by the help of volunteers. To learn from them, he later 5 the team to give his help and kindness to the community(社区).

The 2024 Summer Olympics ended on August 11with a closing celebration in Paris. More than 10, 000 players took part in the celebration and 70, 000 spectators in the stadium and millions more at home

The celebration was fantastic and amazing. There was someone flying in gold armor(盔甲), and an artist played the piano in mid-air. Olympic rings slowly rose over the stage. The French band Phoenix, Belgian singerAngèle, and other artists gave wonderful shows. A special tribute(致敬) was paid to the Games'45, 000volunteers. 

Following the tradition, the Olympic flag was handed off to the leader of the next host city, KarenBass, mayor(市长) of Los Angeles, California. The 2028 Summer Olympics will be held there. The celebration took an American turn when actor Tom Cruise went onto the stage, took the flag, and rode off on a motorbike. Billie Eilish and other musicians appeared by video. 

* Then, French swimmer Léon Marchand, who won five medals this year, arrived with the Olympic flame(火焰). In the end, the flame was out, marking the end of the Games. 

On May 3, Yichang Police Station made history by firstly using a "robot police dog" in Hubei. Working with real police dogs, the robot police dog was sent to patrol(巡逻) and do something else. 

As a new comer to the police station, the robot police dog interested many onlookers(旁观者). With two large" eyes" on its back, it always monitors the movements of people around it. It tries to find anyone with bad intentions (意图). When the robot police dog finds that a visitor leaves his bag on a bench, it will say, "Lost thing found. "

Because of heavy rain, the policemen made indoor patrols on May 3. However, the brave robot police dog still made outdoor patrols. When children saw the robot police dog working in the rain, they even came up to hold an umbrella for it. However, a little water is nothing to the robot police dog. It can work even in temperatures as high as 60℃ or as low as minus 40℃.

Many people from Beijing and otherplaces went to a restaurant inBeijing's Haidian District. * They went to the restaurant not only to eat, but also to pay their respects(尊重) to the hero who lost his life to save others.

Luan Liuwei was a 41-year-old man from Shandong. He ran the restaurant with his wife in Beijing for many years. On August 10, while visiting Gu'an County with his daughter, Luan saved three children from drowning in the Yongding River. However, when he went back into the water to save an adult in danger, he lost his life. 

On Wednesday, Ningyang, his hometown, awarded him the title (称号) of"Model of the New Era inNingyang". Luan's heroic act deeply touched the country. Many people from all over the capital city and other areas went to the restaurant to pay respects to the hero and support the restaurant. 

On Wednesday afternoon, Guo Dong'e from Shangtian Village, Guangdong Province showed her thanks to rescuers again and again. They c her to a helicopter(直升机). Guo Dong'e is 99 years old. She had a bad disease and the rescuers quickly took her to the h . 

He Xiaoqing is Guo's son. He said he found hope when he s the rescue team coming. He worried about his mother's h and they had waited for help for three days. He and his family had to live on noodles to m their primary needs. 

"All the roads to the village have been interrupted(中断), and we had to stay in the village f Sunday to Wednesday. We didn't have c water and enough food, " he said. "I had to walk far away to get water and ask for help. "

The rescue team saved Guo, her son, a five other villagers. They were trapped in the village because of the floods. They felts to see the helicopter. "I've only seen helicopters from movies before. It's amazing that a helicopter came to rescue u this time, " said one of the villagers.
