Everyone has his or her favourite food.

"Cross-bridge rice noodles" is the name of a special dish in Yunnan. It is also a symbol of the traditional culture of Yunnan. The dish is usually made of chicken soup, meat, (vegetable) and rice noodles. 

There  (be) a story behind this dish. Long long ago, a man  (study) every day on an island of Mengzi City in Yunnan. He expected  (have)his favourite rice noodles for meals, so his wife crossed a bridge to the island every day to bring him rice noodles. But the noodles would get cold (quick) on the way. However, she didn't know how to keep the noodles warm. 

One day, she made some chicken soup her husband. It stayed warm during the trip. She found out something— the oil on the top of the soup kept  warm. The wife then had  idea. She tried bringing the chicken soup, rice noodles other foods in different bowls, and put them together after she got to the island. That way the dish stayed warm. 

To remember this wife, this dish was known as" cross-bridge rice noodles". Later, it became one of  (famous) dishes in China. Do you like it?

There are some fantastic beaches on the Costa Brava. Costa Brava is one of coasts in Spain. But the weather this week is terrible. That's really unlucky because it's quite good at this time of the year. Yesterday, we stayed in the hotel all day and played cards. How boring! Dad  the game and went to bed early. He was in a bad mood and made lots of  when' playing the game. Hope' the weather better in the coming days. 

My husband, our children and I have had wonderful camping experiences over the past ten years.

Secondly, don't try to reason with unreasonable(不讲道理的) people.  So keep away from unreasonable people, and you' ll probably stay out of trouble. 

Thirdly, don't get into fights. If someone is trying to drive you mad, just take deep breaths, walk away and stay calm.  Sometimes, the best choice is not to fight with others. 

Finally, take good care of yourself. If your body and mind are in good shape, you may not get into trouble easily. Also, if you' re paying attention to your own health, then you won't have time to make trouble.

Can Virtual Reality(VR) help in schools?

①Virtual Reality is a technology that lets people experience a 3D world that looks and feels real. While VR is popular in games and entertainment(娱乐), more schools are thinking about using it to make learning better. 

②Many people believe that VR can make lessons more exciting. For example, students can visit historical places like the Great Wall of China or the pyramids(金字塔) of Egypt without leaving their classroom. They can explore space or dive under the ocean, experiencing things that would be impossible in real life. VR also allows students to practise dangerous tasks safely. For example, they can learn how to deal with emergencies like earthquakes or fires without any real danger. 

③VR can also help students living in small towns or villages. These students might not have access(机会) to museums, famous teachers or big libraries. With VR, they can"travel" to a museum, attend a famous lesson, or even join a science experiment far away. This helps to give all students equal chances to learn. 

④However, VR is not perfect. First, the equipment(设备) is expensive, and many schools cannot afford it. Second, using VR for a long time can cause problems like eye strain, headaches or dizziness. Finally, some teachers worry that students might become too dependent(依赖的) on technology. If students spend too much time in virtual worlds, they might lose their social skills or have problems with face-to-face communication. 

⑤All in all, VR is an exciting tool that can make learning fun and safe. However, schools should use it carefully. It should not take the place of teachers, books or real-world experiences but can be used to support them. When used in the right way, VR can open new doors for education and make students learn more easily and better. 

A new study from Tohoku University shows that wasabi(芥末) is good for people's memory. Wasabi is something that people usually eat in Japanese dishes. It is made from the wasabi plant, and has always become popular on Japanese menus. 

For further information, a recent study tested people between the ages of sixty and eighty. Some of them took a wasabi extract(提取物) every night before going to bed, while the other testers didn't. After three months, the people who took the wasabi extract did much better in short-term and long-term memory tests, with scores jumped an average of 18%. However, the other people did not show any improvement. 

Scientists already know that wasabi has something different called 6-MSITC. It is infrequent in other plants. The researchers think that 6-MSITC might do good to the hippocampus(海马体), the area that works for people's memory. Scientists say they will do more research, hoping to help people with memory problems. 

Wasabi not only improves the taste of dishes and people's memory, 6-MSITC in wasabi can also help to keep us away from getting ill and offer many other good things to our health as well. 

The new research seems to be good news for sushi eaters. However, most wasabi in Japan is not real wasabi. Real wasabi is difficult to grow. The plant takes nearly two years to grow and needs strict temperature, proper sunlight and so on. As a result, it is very expensive. 

When Darnell and his older sister Lucy found an easy recipe for homemade pasta and tomato sauce(酱), they couldn't wait to try it. Their parents had said they were now old enough to cook dinner for the family, and spaghetti was their favourite food. 

First, they made the noodles. They mixed together flour, water, eggs, salt and a little olive oil to make the dough(面团). Lucy used a rolling pin to press the dough flat. Next, she used a knife to cut the dough into thin strips. Then, she put the noodles aside for later. 

Darnell cut up a large onion and a bunch of fresh basil leaves(罗勒叶). He put a clove of garlic into a small garlic press(压蒜器) and smashed the clove. Lucy helped him cook the onions and garlic in some olive oil in a pot. When the onions and garlic were soft and golden, Darnell added a can of crushed tomatoes, the basil, and some salt and pepper. Then he turned the heat down low. 

When the sauce was almost ready, Lucy boiled water in a large pot to cook the noodles. Darnell was relieved(放心的) to find out that fresh pasta cooks much faster than dried pasta from the store. Everyone was very hungry by the time dinner was ready. 

"It is delicious!" Mum said. "You two did such a great job. "

"Thanks, Mum, " Lucy said. "It was pretty easy. " Darnell was enjoying the food, having no time to say something. They both knew that this would not be the last time they made dinner for the family.
