Shaomai (烧卖), a traditional Chinese food, is loved by many people. Shaomai (appear) a long time ago. Some old records show (serve) Shaomai was common to see in teahouses. There is also a story about it. Once two brothers sold baozi in their shop, but (late) the elder brother and his wife took over the shop. And the younger brother became a (wait). He created a new kind of baozi (make) his own money. It had a (thin) wrapper (皮) than baozi and an open top. They called it "Shaomai (捎卖)" because it was "sold on the side" at first. Gradually, the first character in the name was changed but (it) sound was kept.

Today, Shaomai becomes popular across China. The ways making it are almost the same. It is usually made with a thin wrapper. Mutton, chicken, beef and many other (ingredient) are used in the filling., different parts of China have different styles of Shaomai. People in the south sometimes make it with shrimp or crab roe. People in the north use more onion and ginger. Do you love eating Shaomai?

Meat like beef, mutton, and chicken is people's favourite, and you can also add seafood like shrimp and fish. If you don't eat meat, you can put in different vegetables. It is soft and takes in the flavours of the soup.

In winter, when it's cold outside, people sit around the table, and the hotpot warms them up. People feel good because they're sharing the experience.

Hotpot is more than just a way to cook food. It's also a symbol of Chinese culture and a tradition of China. It shows how important it is to be with others and to share a meal. Today, it's still a favourite way for people to eat and enjoy each other's company.

Chilli peppers, also called chillies, are found in dishes around the world. Chillies come from the capsicum plant (辣椒属植物). They are "hot" because they contain something called capsaicin (辣椒素).

Capsaicin is very good for your health. It helps you breathe better, and it may even help keep you fit. Capsaicin makes you feel less hungry. It also makes your body burn more calories.

We can measure the heat (辣度) of chillies in units called Scoville Heat Units (SHU). The world's hottest chilli is the Carolina Reaper. It sometimes measures up to 2 million SHU!

Eating a hot chilli can be uncomfortable, but some people love to eat it. In 2009, Anandita Dutta Tamuly, a woman from Assam, India, became famous for eating chillies. She ate 51 hot peppers in just two minutes! The peppers were Nag a Jolokia ("Ghost Peppers"). They grow in Assam and are one of the hottest chillies in the world.

"I found eating chillies was a great way to stay healthy," said Tamuly. She began eating chillies when she was a child. She ate chillies when she didn't feel well. "Every time I have a cold or flu, I just eat some chillies and I feel better. To be honest, I hardly notice them now."

When we stay abroad (在国外) for long, we may feel homesick sometimes. But if we can eat a bowl of fried rice with eggs, it will make us feel as if we were at home. It's easy and quick to cook fried rice with eggs. Now I'll show you how to make it.

First, scramble (炒) the beaten eggs. Add two spoons of oil to a hot pan, and pour in the beaten eggs and stir (搅拌) quickly to break them up. Next, fry the rice. Add another spoon of oil to the pan, and then the rice. Stir until they're well mixed. Then, add the carrots, onion and mix them up. After that, add salt and white pepper, stir the mixture and remove the pan from the fire. Finally, eat it. Pour the fried rice with eggs into a bowl. I can't wait. Taste of China!
