We were so happy because Dad wanted to take us to go for a trip. We planned to travel to Dali in Yunnan. It's far  our city. So we chose to go there by plane. It took us a lot of money to do that. But it's a  way to travel. My sister and I felt  because it was the first time we had traveled there. We got there on the evening of September 15th. We felt a little tired. After relaxing in our hotel for some time, my sister and I  out for the evening sightseeing tour (夜景观光). My parents didn't like it,  they stayed at the hotel.

On the  day, we took a taxi to the Cangshan Mountain. The landscape was wonderful. To remember the beautiful time, I took many . On the second day, we took a boat trip on Erhai Lake. For dinner, we had  special—rice noodles. We never had that before. On the third day, we visited the Old Town of Dali.  around the beautiful town was really enjoyable. Then I understood the reason why so many  like coming here every year. The trip was short, but we had a great time in Dali.

This vacation, I took a trip to Chengdu with my friends. We booked (预订) the hotel before leaving Xi'an because we all  it was important to have a good rest. We didn't carry food or  unnecessary (不必要的) with us. That was because it only took us two hours to get to Chengdu.

When everything  ready, we set off at 8 p.m. We arrived in Chengdu at 10 p.m. We had  to do but sleep.

The next day, we visited the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (成都大熊猫繁育研究基地). The pandas were so lovely and we took  photos of them. There were many baby pandas at this base, too. Some workers  and washed them, while others played with them. The pandas lived a very happy life there. At this base, we also  some ice cream in the shape of pandas.

Before leaving, I bought some gifts for my little sister, and she liked them very much. It was an exciting trip.

When I was a kid, I was in the middle of a big circle of friends. Most of them were classmates in school. I always got on well with them. However, there was one  — Jake, a math talent in my class. I seldom talked with him because math was not my favorite subject.

Things didn't get better  October when I turned to Jake for help. "Sure, I‘d be happy to help you!" Jake said. I wasn't expecting Jake to help me. I wasn‘t sure  the moment when I found Jake knew my name. During my study time, Jake was patient,  (explain) the math problems to me over and over again. For the first time, I finally understood the difficult math formulas!

Everyone is unique. No two people are exactly alike. 

When we meet someone different from us, we have a chance to learn. A friend from another country can teach us about new cultures. Someone with different skills can show us new ways of thinking. 

Differences also make teams stronger. Think about a sports team.  The players have different positions and different skills. Together, they can win games. If all players were the same, the team would be weak.

In the classroom, students have different strengths.  Some are good at science, while others excel at art. When they work together, they can help each other and learn more.

 We should not be afraid of differences. Instead, we should welcome them. When we learn to accept and celebrate differences, we make the world a more beautiful place.

The Crow and the Peacock — A Lesson on Comparison

Long long ago, a crow lived in a forest. One day, he saw a swan and he thought, "That beautiful white bird must be the happiest bird in the world."

When he came to share his idea with the swan, the swan said, "I felt that I was the happiest bird in the forest until I saw a beautiful peacock. He has so many colourful feathers. He is certainly more beautiful than any other bird."

The crow then visited a peacock in the zoo, and saw that there were hundreds of people coming to see him. The peacock was performing a show for humans. "Dear Peacock," the crow said, "you are so beautiful. Every day, hundreds of people come to see your feathers. Unlike you, people will drive me away when they see me. I think that you are the happiest bird in the world."

The peacock said, "I always thought that I was the most beautiful and happiest bird. But because of my beauty, I lost my freedom. I can never go out of the zoo any more. You must be the happiest bird in the world because you are free."

The crow flew away without saying anything, being happy. Sometimes, we don‘t need to compare with anyone else and feel bad about ourselves. It is better to be happy with what you have than to wish for things you don't have. The crow finally got the true meaning of happiness.

Twins with Differences

Maggie and Samantha are twin sisters. Sometimes many students have a hard time telling which is which. They have blonde hair, just like their dad does. They have green eyes, just like their mum does. They are around the same height too.

Every morning they take the yellow school bus and sit together. They have a lot in common. Both girls enjoy the same TV shows. Both girls spend a lot of time together with their family, and they both like to play with their dog, Callie.

But they are also very different. Maggie likes to play sports. Every Wednesday and Friday afternoon, she goes to the soccer club. Samantha doesn‘t really like sports, but she likes to dance. When Maggie practises soccer in the club, Samantha goes to the dancing lessons.

Maggie likes to read history books, but Samantha likes books about animals. Maggie gets better grades in reading and Spanish, while Samantha gets better grades in maths and science.

Though two people may come from the same family or look the same or have a lot in common, it doesn't mean that they are all the same. Everyone is different in their own way. That is what makes them special.
