Below the waterfall, there was the most amazing view of all. There were more than twelve big pipes (吸管) in the river. They sucked up (吸) the brown liquid (液体) from the river and carried it away. Because the pipes were made of glass, everyone could see the liquid running and bubbling inside. Above the noise of the waterfall, they could hear the pipes going suck-suck-suck.

"There!" cried Mr Wonka. He pointed (指) his golden stick at the great brown river. "It's all chocolate! The river is full of hot chocolate of the best quality!"

"Isn't it great? And just look at my pipes! They suck up the chocolate and carry it away to all the other rooms in the factory. Thousands of gallons (加仑) every hour! Thousands and thousands of gallons!"

The children and their parents were flabbergasted by the chocolate river. They were amazed and just stood with their mouths open.

Nanjing Hongshan Forest Zoo is a very special zoo in China. Different from many other zoos, it has no animal shows and it always puts animals first. The animals' happiness is more important than fun for visitors. They are living things with their own needs and feelings.

The animals live in the natural areas and they have enough space. This helps the animals feel safe. They can choose their favourite place when they want to rest. Visitors can see real animal actions and the workers here do not make animals do tricks. Shen Zhijun, the "King of the Animals", is the head of the zoo. He started working here in 2008. Shen thinks that animals have feelings as well. If an animal doesn't feel good, it can choose not to show itself in front of visitors.

The zoo also wants to teach people about nature. In 2021, it opened a nature school. The school has different kinds of lessons from one day to a week. It helps visitors learn how to love and protect wild animals. In 2023, 99% of visitors said they were happy with the school. More and more young people joined too. The number of visitors from 18 to 26 years old grew from 15% in 2022 to 39% in 2023.

The zoo cares about the Earth as well. It uses solar power (太阳能) to make phones work. It makes coffee from local coffee beans. Workers use the coffee grounds (残渣) to grow plants. These are small things, but they will make the world become a better place.

Shen's dream is to build warm homes for animals inside the zoo. "Every animal is part of the planet. There is still a lot of work for us to do," he said.
