There was once a problem, though. Every year two squirrels(松鼠) came and stole(偷) all the bird food. It really frustrated my mom. "Why do they think they can steal all the bird food?" she said. "If I wanted to feed them, I would set up a squirrel feeder."

Over the years, Mom has tried every way in the book to keep the squirrels away. But squirrels have a lot of talent. Mom once put up a fence(栅栏). But the squirrels just found a way to jump over it. It seemed mom wouldn't win.

Mom didn't give up easily though. Two weeks ago, she started to watch some TV shows about animals. And she found a new way from the shows successfully. This weekend, Mom caught the two squirrels with a trap(捕捉器).She drove them outside of the city and let them go free.

Now, only birds come to Mom's bird feeder. She is happy. The birds are happy. And of course, the two squirrels are happy living in the countryside where there is always lots of food to eat. I think everyone wins.

Suddenly, there came a car. It was going very fast. When the driver saw the boy in his way, he braked(刹车)hard. But it was too late. The small boy was lying on the street without moving. To everyone's surprise, the car didn't stop. It drove away quickly.

People ran to the boy. There was a cut on the boy's head and he lost a lot of blood. The coffee shop owner telephoned the police. Soon an ambulance arrived and took the boy to the hospital.

At 6:30 p.m., the police arrived and started questioning people. About half an hour later, they asked me to go to the police station because I saw everything. I gave them all the information I knew because I really wanted them to catch the driver. I didn't leave the police station until 8: 00 p.m. After that I went home because I didn't feel like talking to anyone.

The next day, the boy's parents called me to say thanks. They also told me their boy was fine and the driver was in the police station now.

Remember that your parents love you.Sometimes they do something that you can hardly understand. For example, you may want to be an artist in the future,(连词) your parents want you to do something else. If so, try to think in their shoes.
