We got older and better so our games were more serious, but also more exciting. The strange thing is that I enjoyed the games very much and was happy for my brother when he won. But then, I did not feel right and became less confident than before.

When I was 10 years old, I wanted to be successful at my talents. One day, I thought I had to find something Stevie couldn't do. Before long, I got Jimmy Nelson's record on "How to Become a Ventriloquist (腹语师)" and I practiced every day. Ater summer vacation, I did my first show for my class. The show was welcomed. Then I did a lot of shows to practice my new skill.

Learning ventriloquism (腹语，口技) wasn't easy. The difficult part was developing the voice, because at first, it was soft and hard to hear. I memorized the routines and performed more. With time, I got better responses. The loud laughter continued along with the applause (掌声).

Four years later, my mother bought a professional ventriloquial figure, which I named Freddie O' Sullivan. He was very human-like with, big eyes. Treating Freddie like a real person helped improve my performance. In college, Freddie was well known. Over the years, I won many talent prizes.

One time, an old man who had watched my show with his family looked at Freddie carefully and asked him where he got his trousers.      ★      I didn't know what was going on until I was told later that the gentleman hadn't spoken for 20 years.

Thanks to my brother, I created a lifetime with Freddie.

When traveling, she discovered she could buy a ship ticket to Antarctica at a very low price. "I just decided I wanted to go," she says. "I had no idea about what I'd find there and I wasn't nervous, I just wanted to do it. And I wanted to do it alone as I always prefer it that way."

In March 2008, Ginni got on a ship with another 48 passengers she'd never met before, to begin the journey towards Antarctica. "From seeing the wildlife to enjoying the sunrises, the whole experience was amazing." Ginni says. "I remember the first time I saw a whale, it just rose out of the water like some prehistoric creature (史前生物) and I thought it was smiling at us. You could still hear the musical sounds it was making underwater."

Ginni realized that Antarctica is a precious land that needs to be respected and protected by humans.

       Daniel told me that we had a schedule to keep. So he3 me to get in. Some time later, the mountains were in sight ahead. They4 bigger than I had thought; the trees were larger, and the environment was much more dangerous...

       Before we began hiking, Daniel told us about hiking rules. The5 part of the path (小路) was not that difficult. But soon, the path became narrower and steeper (陡峭的), forcing me to talk less.

       "It looks closer than it is," Daniel said, reading my expression. "This is the most difficult part...6 your step, not the view."

       Daniel, realizing that I was12, started sharing some stories about his past camping adventures.
