Shaking like a leaf, Flora climbed down. Luckily, Jared led the way back to their camp after dark The other team members came back too. 

In the deep winter of Northeast China, many animals fal1 into a deep sleep. , signs of next spring have appeared at Chagan Lake. People here are known as the"last fishing and hunting tribe(狩猎部落 ) in Northern China". Chagan Lake is in Jilin Province and it is the  largest freshwater lake in China. The lake is over 400 km²and up to 6m  . It has a rich ecosystem with over 60 kinds of fishes. 

The area has a long of fishing and hunting. Winter fishing ceremonies date back  of years. People use tools to make in the ice through which they drop the nets (网). Later, huge nets are from the water, bringing tens of thousands of fish onto the ice-covered surface. 

To keep the local fishing and hunting culture  to make sure it develops in an environmentally friendly way, the local fishermen have changed their nets with small holes to nets with big holes. They also scientifically place baby fish as planned and make sure that  can live healthily in the lake. Besides, they have been following traditional fishing methods, trying to  water pollution. As a result, Chagan Lake' s fish are known for their high quality and great taste.

A dead satellite(人造卫星)becomes a huge piece of space junk. This happens to Internet service satellites when they come back to the Earth. And this could be harmful to our atmosphere( 大 气 层 ) and magnetosphere (磁层), which protect us. 

Right now, there are about 10, 000 active satellites, and most of them can only be used once. Businesses are working as fast as possible to send thousands more into space. They plan to send up about one million satellites in the next thirty to forty years. These satellites help provide better Internet services and can make our lives more and more convenient. But they also create a lot of harmful waste that could cover our planet. The problem is space can't clean itself. 

The magnetosphere protects our atmosphere and keeps us alive. It is easy to think that the magnetosphere is too strong for humans to have any influence on it. ____Some scientists, like me, study how space rubbish can hurt our atmosphere and magnetosphere. Our research shows that rubbish from old satellites can harm our magnetosphere. 

0ld satellites are huge and made of metal and other materials. The Earth is a ball magnet( 磁 铁 ) and we are covering it with metal rubbish. This can in turn weaken our magnetosphere and make it hard for life to live on the Earth. 

Our magnetosphere is very important, so any pollution of it should be watched and studied. Space businesses should be cautious about sending

up new satellites and take action to avoid pollution;if they can't show that their pollution will not hurt our atmosphere and magnetosphere.

Our school held the Science &Technology Festival yesterday.

Last year, 16-year-old Alkut Dilxat from Xinjiang became the youngest Chinese climber to reach the top of Qomolangma. The boy  the challenges presented by extreme cold, low oxygen levels, heavy snow and ice. 

On  May  19, breathing  heavily, Alkut  stepped  onto  the  mountain  with  unsteady ( 摇摆的 ) and finally reached the top of the world and broke a record. "There was a moment when I feared and decided to up. Later I thought  I didn't want to end up like these climbers, staying here forever. However, I finally realized that I was wrong and admired their , "Alkut  said. 

To prepare, Alkut ran 10 kilometers every morning before going to school, and took professional training on weekends. Moreover, climbing other great mountains offers  enough experience and confidence. For example, in July 2023 he reached the top of Muztagh Ata, a 7, 546-meter peak in Xinjiang.

Traced back to the Song and Yuan Dynasties, Fujian Tulou is a kind of traditional Chinese rural house built by the Hakka people in the mountainous areas of East China's Fujian Province. These large, closed, and strong earth buildings were added to UNESCO's World Heritage( 遗 产 )List in 2008. 

China's development has not given up traditional culture but has gone hand in hand with its cultural heritage, passing it on from generation to generation. Fujian Tulou is an example of this. In Zhangzhou's Nanjing County, over 15, 000 tulou buildings are kept. They attract a large number of tourists. 

At the tulou area, you can always see many travelers taking videos with their phones or cameras. Local people may invite visitors to their homes for a short tour, sharing stories about the inside design of the tulou. There are also shops offering visitors the chance to dress in the clothes of the local She ethnic minority( 畲 族 )for photos. 

Usually, the ink rubbing(墨水拓片)workshop also interests lots of visitors. The leader of the workshop guides people, showing them luck and happiness in China, on a woodcut (木版画)of a tulou. After rolling the paper with golden ink, they get a beautiful picture of the tulou, a unique souvenir made by their own hands that they can take home. 

These activities not only provide fun but also allow visitors to experience the beauty of traditional Chinese culture firsthand. 

Ye Jiaying was known as the"daughter of poetry". She 1  on November 24, 2024, at the age of 100. Born in Beijing in 1924, Ye Jiaying was an expert in Chinese classical literature and  2 . She spent her life studying, creating, and teaching the beautiful art of Chinese poetry. Even in her 90s, she continued to 3  her knowledge and passion with others, and her lectures were widely admired. 

From a young age, Ye had a  4  interest in classical poetry and English. In college, she studied Tang and Song dynasty poetry with a famous literature professor who 5 her greatly. In the 1950s and 1960s, she taught at universities in Taiwan, and then moved to Canada. However, her love for her homeland and its poetry never faded (减弱) . Starting in 1979, she began giving free lectures in Chinese mainland during her holidays. 

In 2018 and 2019, Ye gave all her 6 and the money from selling her property, totaling 35. 68 million yuan, to Nankai University. For her  7 and generosity(慷慨), she was awarded the"Touching China"award in 2020. 

Ye was not just a teacher. She was also a(n)  8 poet. She wrote and published many books on Chinese poetry and literature, including Studies in Chinese Poetry and Jialing's Collection of Poem Commentaries. Her work was  9  praised, and she received many awards, such as the Lifetime Achievement Award for Chinese Poetry.
