As a medical student from Bangladesh, Sophia had long heard about the"magic" of Traditional Chinese Medi-cine(TCM). Sophia neverto  experience it in person until she visited Yunfu, a beautiful city in southern China.

From this trip, Sophia understood TCM is not only about"magic" things,   it's the wisdom that connects humans with nature. She will never forget this special experience in Yunfu.

Sunflowers are among the most wonderful plants on our planet. With bright yellow flowers, green leaves and tall stems(茎), they not only add beauty to the environment but also play a key role in protecting it. These plants can grow quite tall, and their large flower heads follow the sun across the sky daily. More importantly, they offer a lot of environmental benefits.

One special ability of sunflowers is cleaning polluted soil. Scientists have found  that sunflowers  can  take  in harmful things from the soil, such as lead(铅). A study shows that sunflowers can reduce the lead content(含量)in the soil by 43%, making the soil in safe condition according to the US standard of 200 ppm.

These flowers are also friendly to bees and other insects. Each sunflower's center has many tiny flowers that provide food for bees. Beekeepers have noticed that bees visiting sunflowers produce more honey, making sunflowers valuable for both farmers and ecosystems(生态系统).

Planting sunflowers is easy and meaningful. Even a few plants in a garden or pots can make a difference. Many schools have started sunflower projects, where students study sunflowers' growth and how they attract(吸引) butter-flies and bees. By learning about and growing sunflowers, we can all have a big influence on a cleaner world. These sunny flowers remind us that nature holds simple yet effective solutions to environmental problems.
