15、 阅读下面短文,并用英语回答问题(请注意每小题的词数要求)
Different countries and different people have different manners. We must find out their customs so that they will not think us ill-mannered (无礼的). Here are examples of the things that a person with a good education does or does not do.
If you visit a Chinese family, you should knock at the door first. When the door opens, you should not move until the host says, "Come in, please." After you enter the room, you should not sit down until the host asks you to take a seat. When a cup of tea is put on a tea table before you or sent to your hand, you should say "Thank you" and receive it with two hands, not one hand, or the host will think you are ill-mannered. Before entering a house in Japan, it is good manners to take off your shoes. In European countries, even though shoes sometimes become very dirty, this is not done. In a Malay house, a visitor never finishes the food on the table. He leaves a little to show that he has had enough. In England, a visitor always finishes a drink or the food to show that he has enjoyed it. This will make the host pleased.
(1)、When can you enter the room if you visit a friend in China? (不超过10 个词)(2)、In which country do you have to take off your shoes when you enter your host' s house? (不超过5 个词)(3)、Why does a visitor always finish the food at dinner in his friend' s home in England? (不超过15 个词) -
16、 阅读下列短文,从每小题所给的A、B、C、D 四个选项中选出最佳选项。
Most people have a favorite colour, but how people feel about colours depends on their culture. This can be very important to people in business who sell products all over the world. They might choose a colour because they think it is exciting or attractive(有吸引力的), but in another country, that same colour could be used to give a sad message. Look at these examples.
If you ask someone in Britain what the right colour is for a bride (新娘) to wear, the answer will be white. In China and other eastern countries, brides often wear red because the colour red is a sign of good luck, happiness and prosperity (繁荣). They refuse to use other colours. In Britain, red is used as a sign of danger. Road signs and warning labels (标签) are often in red. In eastern cultures, the colour red does not mean you have to be careful.
In Egypt, yellow is the colour linked to death. In Britain and other Western cultures, death and funerals are usually linked to the colour black, but in many eastern countries, white is the colour most people connect with death and funerals.
Many people like the colour orange because it is bright and exciting. Some advertisers will not use orange in their advertisements because they believe it suggests that the products are cheap and perhaps not of good quality.
In a word, colours have different meanings in different cultures. We should learn to choose the proper colour in some special situations.

In Rio de Janeiro' s Tijuca National Park, there stands a "Chinese Pavilion". It is a symbol of the early cultural exchange between China and Brazil. This pavilion is not only a beautiful viewing spot, but also a symbol of early cultural exchanges between China and Brazil.
More than 200 years ago, a group of Chinese tea farmers crossed the ocean to Brazil, bringing with them tea seeds and the knowledge of tea planting. These farmers were like ambassadors (大使) of friendship, teaching the Brazilians how to grow and process tea. Soon after, Brazil became the first country in the Americas to grow tea on a large scale, and the third in the world after China and Japan. At the 1873 Vienna World' s Fair, Brazilian tea was highly praised.
To honor these Chinese tea farmers, the city of Rio de Janeiro built the "Chinese Pavilion" in 1903, symbolizing the bridge between the two nations that was "built by tea". In the Rio Botanical Garden, there is an ancient tea tree grown from seeds brought by the Chinese tea farmers two centuries ago. A stone tablet in front of the tree is written in both Portuguese and Chinese, reading: "In 1812, the first Chinese to arrive in Brazil planted tea trees here—a witness to the friendship between China and Brazil."

China is a nation of etiquette(礼仪). Chinese people are among the most hospitable people in the world. If foreigners visit a Chinese family, they will be surprised at the warmth that they receive as guests.
When you visit a Chinese family, the host usually makes tea for you. Then he will serve you snacks like biscuits or candy. Someone in the family will also talk with you, never letting you feel lonely.
At the same time, other family members will prepare a meal for you. Chinese people treat their guests to a big meal. They always prepare more food than the guests can eat. At the table, the guests must be the first to eat. Perhaps one of the things that surprises a Western guest most is that some Chinese hosts like to pick food for visitors, which won' t happen at Western tables. The Chinese family go out of their way to make you feel at home. As you finish eating, the host usually says, "It seems that you didn' t eat much. Please have more." Although you tell them you are full, they still put more food in your bowl.

Three people were sitting around a table in a restaurant in Brazil. How much do you think each of them tipped (给小费)?
The Briton asked, "It' s common to tip 10 percent, right?"
The American woman cried, "Oh, I was planning to leave 20 percent!"
The Chinese woman asked, "What' s a tip?"
Although it is not a tradition to tip in China, tipping is a big deal in the United States. There, it is common to tip about 15 to 20 percent of the bill.
Usually, people give tips to a waiter or waitress when they eat in a restaurant. The US tops the list of tipping—waiters and waitresses are expecting to get 15-25 percent of the bill. So if you order $100 in food, you are expected to pay your waiter at least $15, making your payment $115 in all.
Why is this? Many waiters and waitresses get paid below the US minimum wage (最低工资), and tips make up for that. Some states pay their servers only $2.13 per hour.
It is not just for waiters, either. Hotel workers, hairdressers and taxi drivers also expect tips.
Tipping is also popular in some Southeast Asian countries, like Indonesia and Thailand. However, in Japan there is a no-tipping culture. If you try to give a waiter or waitress money, you may actually upset him or her.
(1)、What did the Chinese woman mean?A、She didn' t want to give a tip. B、She thought 20 percent was not enough. C、She didn' t know anything about tipping. D、She believed tipping should be very little.(2)、Which country does not have a culture of tipping?A、Japan. B、Britain. C、Indonesia. D、Thailand.(3)、What is the text mainly about?A、Shared service traditions. B、How Americans eat out. C、Why high tips are unexpected. D、Tipping culture worldwide. -
