For the girls at Sanhe Town Primary School in Chongqing, China, football is much more than a hobby.

The school is deep in the mountains in Chongqing. Most of the students are left­behind （留守） children. In the past, there was a shortage of teachers at the school, so it was hard for the students there to learn better than those living in cities.

Their life­changing journeys started in 2013. At that time, Sun Xiaoming, the head teacher of the school, decided to set up a girls' football team. He believed it could be a chance for the students to get better education and live different lives.

For Sun, the greatest difficulty was getting the students' parents to accept his idea. To do it, Sun sent a girl to another primary school for football training. A few months later, the girl got a scholarship （奖学金） to study at Chongqing No. 37 Secondary School. Her experience brought hope to other girls at the school and their parents.

Later, the school set up a girls' football team and there were 20 girls in it. The situations at that time were really hard, but the girls all valued （珍视） the chance to practise.

Years of hard work finally paid off. Over the past few years, many girls have got into good schools because of their football abilities （能力）. Today, the school has developed a football culture, and each grade from two to six has its football team. Many students are proud of taking part in the sport.

I'm happy to be here today to share my experience with you. Three years ago, my doctor told me that I had to lose weight to stay in good health. So, I made up my mind that I would change my way of life.

I believe that the key to losing weight is having a positive （积极的） mind. During the three years, whenever I faced difficulties, I would encourage myself. That's how I could keep going.

Next, I had to change my diet. I threw away all of the junk food in my house. When I went shopping, I only bought healthy food for myself. I suggest that when you get home, you should check the food in your fridge. Will it help you become the healthy person you want to be?

Lastly, I also started exercising. I tried to get out of my room and spend more time outside. At first, it was difficult for me. But as time went by, I started doing more and more exercise.Now, I'm able to run 5km every day.

Losing weight is all about making the right choice for your health. I've made it. And I want to tell you that you can, too!

On September 5, 2022, a big earthquake hit Luding County, Sichuan Province. During the earthquake, Gan Yu, a water­power station worker, and his workmate stayed behind to prevent the villages nearby from being flooded. 17 days later, he was found at last. 

During the earthquake, Gan Yu and his workmate, Luo Yong, chose not to escape. They managed to turn off all the switches and helped save people. They stayed at the station that day without eating any food. 

The next day, they tried to save themselves and move out together. He lost his glasses during the earthquake and had difficulty in finding roads. He was afraid that they couldn't reach a safe place because of him. He said to Luo, "You go first. Come and save me when you find someone to help us. " "Don't worry, I'm certain that you will be saved. " Luo said and left. 

Three days later, Luo was saved. His first sentence was, "My workmate was still in danger. " However, when a rescue team arrived at the place, Gan was no longer there. In the next days, they never gave up searching for him. 

After hearing of the news about looking for Gan, a local farmer Ni Taigao volunteered to join in the rescue. During the search, he heard Gan's weak cries for help. He soon saw him lying under the trees. During the past days, Gan depended only on wild fruits and water to survive. The other rescuers arrived and Gan was sent to a nearby hospital. 

There are always people who would rather give up their own lives for others. They are heroes. 

Hua Luogeng loved studying maths when he was young. However, his family was poor, so he had to drop out when he finished secondary school and help his parents to run the store. 

It didn't stop Hua Luogeng from studying maths. He always studied maths while he was taking care of the business. 

One day, a lady came to the store to buy something. Hua Luogeng lost himself in a maths problem and he didn't pay attention to the customer. 

When the customer asked how much she had to pay, he told her the number that he just calculated （计算）. The customer gave a loud cry, "Is it that expensive？"

The cry pulled him back from his maths world. He found he just made a fool of himself. Then he quickly wrapped （包裹） the thing up and collected the money. 

After the customer left, Hua Luogeng wanted to continue his calculation but his draft （草稿） paper was gone. He realized that the piece of paper he just used for wrapping was his draft paper. Hua Luogeng was so nervous and ran after the customer at once. He finally caught up with the lady. The lady was moved and returned it to him. 

His love for mathematics helped him to overcome many difficulties. He studied by himself and finally he went to Tsinghua University to work as a professor. He also published ten works of maths. 

Hua Luogeng was a famous mathematician worldwide. He made a great contribution to the development of maths in China. He was praised as "The father of modern Chinese mathematics" and "China's Einstein". He has influenced the Chinese a lot.
