Last Saturday, a graduation ceremony took place. Three black Labrador retrievers (拉布拉多猎大) graduated after a year of training. These dogs are now ready to help autistic (自闭症) children.

Over the past year, the dogs learned 30 skills. They can offer support to kids with special needs. Families with autistic children aged between 3 and 12 years old can apply to get one of these dogs for free.

Ren Jing, who is in charge of the dog-training program, said they are receiving calls from families who want to take the dogs home. They will try to match the right dogs with the right families.

The dog-training project started in 2021. The Sichuan Science and Technology Poverty Alleviation Foundation worked with the Shanghai Erxing Guide Dogs School. Dog instructor Zhang Shiping said the dogs would stay with autistic children, making them feel safe and helping them reduce stress.

At the graduation ceremony, the 2-year-old dogs, Yili, Halei, and Hali, showed their skills. Hali placed his head on a volunteer child's lap. Yili gave a "hug" to a child.

The instructors said Yili has a very calm personality, so she is good for kids who get angry easily. Halei and Hali are enthusiastic, so they are better for shy kids.

Several parents are interested in adopting the dogs. A mom named Chen hopes the dog can accompany (陪伴) her child and make him happier.

When night comes and you need a place to sleep, trees can help with that. Using some long strong branches, you can make a shelter (护所)by leaning them against a standing tree. Then cover it with leaves or grass or smaller branches to protect you from the wind and rain.

Moreover, branches can be made into tools. Sharpening a straight branch makes a spear(矛)for hunting small animals or keeping dangerous animals away.

Finally, trees can help you find your way, in the Northern Hemisphere, moss (苔藓) typically grows on the north side of trees, and the south-facing branches grow better because they get more sunlight. So, next time you're in the wild, remember how helpful trees can be!

The Spring Festival was Li Ming's favorite holiday. Every year in the past, his whole family came to visit. They made dumplings together, exchanged red envelopes, gathered around the TV to watch the Spring Festival Gala, and told stories.

The Year of the Snake has been special in Chinese culture for thousands of years. Ancient people  (believe) snakes symbolized (象征) wisdom and rebirth. In old  (story), half-snake gods like Fuxi and Nuwa taught humans how to farm. Even today, many families put up snake-shaped decorations (装饰品) during the Spring Festival.

On February 25th 2025, new elderly care robots were shown to people. These robots help old people in many ways and make their lives easier and happier.

The Rocky Mountains

The Rocky Mountains are a large group of mountains on the North American continent (洲).The Rockies are found in the western part of North America. They stretch (连绵) from Canada in the north to the United States in the south. The southern part of the Rockies ends in the state of New Mexico.

The Rockies are the longest mountain range in North America. They have many high peaks. The highest is Mount Elbert in Colorado. It is nearly three miles high.

In summer, the Rockies are warm and dry, though it does rain sometimes. During the winter, the weather is wet and cold. Heavy winter snow falls in the higher parts of the Rockies.

Many people like to visit these mountains. A special area called Rocky Mountain National Park is in Colorado. The national park is reserved (留出) for people to visit. They ride bikes, hike on trails, ski, or fish here. Visitors to Rocky Mountain National Park can see the wild animals that live there. These animals include elk (驼鹿), mountain goats and mountain sheep.

⑤Scientists also create artificial snow (人造雪) to help glaciers stay cooler and melt more slowly. In April and May 2023, scientists did this in the Bailanghe Glacier. The glacier grew 5.9 percent bigger. It is also important to watch glaciers carefully. Scientists use special devices (设备) to watch glaciers. This helps scientists know how glaciers are changing. By studying the numbers, scientists can find better ways to protect glaciers.

Like many students, I enjoy watching TV. I like cartoons, magic shows, talk shows and many other kinds of TV programmes. Out of all these, I like nature shows best and Animal World is my favourite.

I love animals. I have tortoises, birds and fish at home and I help my dad feed them after school every day. They're really interesting and I love learning about animals. That's why I love Animal World. It shows animals from every part of the world. It shows birds flying in the sky or fishes swimming in the blue ocean.

The photographers (摄影师) and cameramen get very close to the animals to show how they live in the wild.

And the host (主持人) explains the animals' habits clearly. I love the beautiful scenery (风景), the clear explanations and all the interesting information in the programme.

I first watched Animal World when I was five and became a fan of it. I hope the programme will continue for a long time.

Social media also has a bad influence if we don't use it correctly. For example, it can make us less confident sometimes. One reason is that people around us put colourful and wonderful pictures online to show off (炫耀) their best moments. Online sharing is not always safe, either. Not only your friends or family can see your news, but some strangers (陌生人) can also see it.

Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai says, "What is interesting is the power and influence of social media. We must try to use social media in a good way." After all, you decide how you use this powerful tool.
