Have you heard that many of the migrating（迁徙）animals are in danger? A report has found that one fifth of the world's migrating animals are at risk of dying out. They often move from place to place because they might be looking for food, better weather, or a friend. This includes big animals like whales and elephants, and small animals like turtles, fish, and birds. 

The report was by the United Nations (UN), a group of 193 countries that work together on problems facing people. The recent report looked at the health of these protected animals and found that the number of them is getting smaller, and some of them are at risk of disappearing forever. , Migrating animals face many dangers, because they often move from one place to another. For example, more than 1. 5 million wildebeest(a wild African animal) travel through Tanzania and Kenya to follow the rain each year, crossing rivers where hungry Nile crocodiles（鳄鱼）live. However, the biggest danger to migrating animals is people, such as hunting, fishing and building things that destroy their homes. 

It's hard to protect migrating animals because of how far they travel. Monarch butterflies travel 3, 000 miles every autumn from north-eastern North America to Mexico. But the report suggests that countries create safe areas of land to help animals. It also suggests that governments do more to fix climate（气候）change, as well as noise, light and plastic pollution. 

The report showed projects that have helped migrating animals. In the South Atlantic ocean, rules that stopped the hunting of humpback whales（座头鲸）helped make their numbers go from 450 in the 1950s to more than 25, 000 today. Inger Andersen from the UN Environment Programme said, "There is hope. Humans can still do even more to protect migrating animals. "

Your eyes help you see and make sense of the world. They work hard every day, with reading, doing homework, watching television and playing sports. A report by Eye Health UK says eyesight （视力）can even influence how you feel:76% of people with poor eyesight in the survey said it had influenced their mental health. Eyes have been called" windows to the soul". For example, , when you' re happy, your eyes might look big and shiny. When you' re down, they might look dark and sad. By this way, they help humans understand and connect with other people.

Farmers Jim and Bob faced a big problem while trying to get beans out of a huge bin（柜子）. The beans just wouldn't come out. Jim was（充满）of confidence and believed he could solve it. Little did he know, this confidence got him in much（麻烦）. He climbed some stairs and entered the bin. （突然）, the beans fell down and completely covered him!

How to Make Friends

Join a club or a group. Talking with those who like the same things as you do is much easier. And it's easier to keep up a conversation if you have something in common. 

Many people are nervous when talking to new people.  And it's human nature to feel a bit uncomfortable about the unknown. But don't forget that most people are friendly to you. Most of them are just as nervous as you are. 

Try to act as if you're self-confident even if you don't feel that way. When you enter a room full of strangers, such as a new classroom, walk tall and straight, look directly at other people and smile. 

 If you see someone you'd like to speak to, say something. Don't wait for the other person to start a conversation. 

Just meeting someone new doesn't mean that you'll make friends with that person. Friendship is based on mutual（相互的）likings and "give and take".

Most people have a favorite color, but how people feel about colors depends on their culture. This can be very important to people in business that sell products all over the world. They might choose a color because they think it is exciting or attractive, but in another country that same color could be used to give a sad message. Look at these examples. 

If you ask someone in Britain what the right color is for a bride（新娘）to wear, the answer will be white. In China and other eastern countries, brides often wear red because the color red is a sign of good luck, happiness and prosperity（繁荣）. They refuse to use other colors. In Britain, red is used as a sign of danger. Road signs and warning labels（标签）are often in red. In eastern cultures, the color red does not man you have to be careful.

Many people like the color orange because it is bright and exciting. Some advertisers will not use orange in their advertisements because they believe it suggests that the products are cheap and perhaps not of good quality. 

In a word, colors have different meanings in different cultures. We should learn to choose the proper color in some special situation. 

For many girls from villages in China, a dream job could be anything except working in a village. But Zhang Guifang, a 24-year-old college graduate, gave up running her business in Tianjin and returned to her village.
